Those who tuned into KPMG town hall, thoughts?
Hello folks at Uber, I’ve been approached by a recruiter for the role of a Regional Operations Manager - Eats’ Marketplace team. Wondering how this fares against the Strategy and Planning team (which I’m guessing is the most elite Strategy team at Uber). Also, should I be looking out for any other non-engineering teams within Uber that are well known for what they do?

Not only inefficient, they are super snobbish and loves people who can polish in front of them.
Yep definitely not my experience and I have interacted with many recruiters.
The Canadian recruitment cycle is so long that they probably are just stalling. Most firms interview without having hiring tickets so they know who to offer when a ticket opens up. Recruiters get stuck in the middle.
PwC1 - what do you mean interview without hiring ticket ? Do you mean job posting ? Are you saying hiring is happening outside of the regular recurring process ? How do you land a job there then ?
Pretty common to leave a posting up even when no budget or after position is filled in case a great candidate comes by. Budget approval is always doable for great candidates.
I would disagree based on my own experience, but you’re entitled to your own opinion 🤷🏻♀️
It depends on the project. If travelling it’s usually just within Canada
Two years ago I was going through the campus recruiting process with all the big 4. Applications were due at around the same time in mid September.
KPMG called me for a first around interview at the end of OCTOBER, after the other ones already sent out full time offers. Their firm operates on a different level 😤
Or you were a backup candidate and they didn’t realize how obvious the timing difference was
