Citi - SVP Salary Expectations for Tech / Controls
Looking at some SVP roles for technology / controls in the Southwest region. Glassdoor indicates $185-240k as range base comp, and target of $185-205k for average base. Is that accurate?
Glassdoor also targets $40k for variable comp. average. Is that accurate?

Agreed. It's pretty dumb. My first project I was doing Sunday-Friday in NYC and it was in the Winter with $500 a night hotels. My expenses were greater than 4x my salary. Had a great time in NYC tho.
Some of us haven't hit lifetime status yet. Please don't advise on this efficient model for a few more years.
It’s idiotic. Some clients don’t let their own staff travel, yet throw money around left and right on consulting travel
Because being “in person” is important to them, it’s dumb
Are you guys all doing tech implementation work or something? How can you not see value in client face time?
This seems like too much info to be posting in such a public place. I know it’s not confidential, but still. FWIW my personal experience has been all like @BCG3
Whoever does time and material anymore? I spent 4 years at EY and it was all a fixed cost project. At best some SOW's I worked with had the client paying 10% travel expenses which is pretty low. I just finished up an engagement at my work with a MBB firm and for 7 weeks we paid them nearly 800k for about 3 resources. For that kind of money, I guess it was expected they would be on site M-Th.
I’m in CPR and this is becoming what our clients are asking for. I work from home a lot and only go out for C meetings
Agree it depends on the type of work. My general understanding is that clients like to see what they’re paying for. At higher levels, I think being able to walk over to someone’s desk to ask a question or discuss in real time is highly valuable
Being in the same building as the client is massively important - Zoom is great but nothing beats just casually dropping by someone’s desk or grabbing lunch together.
I agree that full-on Mon-Thu travel isn’t always necessary though
