Taxes are the opposite of printing money - taxes take money out of circulation. Taxes are a form of monetary supply control (i.e., taxes apply deflationary pressure). Not a surprise that inflation has run rampant with historically low tax rates on top of the easy money spigot.

like

Exactly. Keep trying to tell people of they can't bring down inflation through raising interest rates, they'll raise taxes.

EY - you guys doing okay over there?

Looking for some advice - I'm thinking about going back to school in the next few years for my MBA and I'm wondering if I should stay at my firm for another year until I get promoted to consultant (level that most MBAs come in as) or if I should not bother and leave next year as a Senior Associate? I want the MBA for networking/taking a break from work and I also want to switch into marketing ideally.

My gf and me call each other everytime we have free time. However lately she seems disinterested in phone time. She never initiates calls anymore and she tells me she wants to hang up in the middle of the day and not right before bedtime. We live a 4 hour drive apart. And I told her this is like living together from a distance, because I put her on the house speakers. What can I do to keep her engaged?

Working for a senior who is beyond horrible. She talks to you like you’re stupid and makes it sound like you’re absolutely terrible at what you’re doing. She’s made 5 other associates cry during her 5 year career. Got someone fired and made another person quit. It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. I came along and thought I could deal with it but she literally makes me want to not log on tomorrow.
