Why does every company insist on four to six rounds of interviews before deciding to hire you? I'm applying to be an Accountant at a mid-tier firm. It's not like I need security clearance to gain access to our nuclear codes or something. I hate how exhausting and endless the hiring process has become.

It is an employer's market. Do you not understand what that means? It means there are more employees than jobs; therefore employers can be picky. We be go on multiple interviews, because they are sizing up the best candidates. Yes, they usually know by the second or third interview if they want you, but that is not the way the market works. You don't have to like it, I don't.

The honest truth is when hiring a new candidate, decision makers don't want to be blamed if the candidate doesn't work out. In order to protect themselves, they simply make it appear to be a group decision -- which only can be done by having the candidate interview with numerous people, having multiple meetings to discuss candidates, and then actually getting people to agree to hire the candidate the hiring manager wanted in the first place. Yes, it is ridiculous, but the last thing an exec wants is the reputation that they can't pick talent.

Have you never heard of an employer's market? We are in an employer's market. More than 3 rounds of interviews are more typical in an employer's market. I suggest you learn what an employer's job market means.

So they can yap about the candidates rather than be limited to one person’s opinion. And to see how you get along with different people. Market is terrible rn too so they want any obstacle to keep headcount low

It is an employer's job market.

1. The current job market doesn't favor the job seeker, so the hiring company can be picky.

2. The hiring manager can't make a decision, so they need others to help decide.

3. That company's hiring practice is outdated, and they wonder the top talent is no longer interested in them after weeks and multiple rounds of interviews. They think that candidates are not interviews or applying elsewhere while they are waiting on someone to make a decision.

lol Trump? It’s not Trump it was before Trump

Feels like I’ve got the same experience as those in the roles but submitting an application thru sites is like shouting in
