^ is that based on real numbers or just observations? I would agree with less posts from KPMG but I like to think that’s just because we are all kicking back reading about the shit storm that is EY.
Nobody said anything about local policy negating firm policy. There isn’t even policy written on working from home as far as I could find in a precursory search. The firm knows that remote workers are necessary in a client serving business like ours that requires frequent travel. I would venture to say that firm wide policy would be written in a vague a manner to explicitly leave that up to specific groups and teams who know what their teams need or require. I could see someone enacting a policy where approval to wfh would be required in situations of abuse, but in my experience the ability to work from home is a perk of this job that I have enjoyed from the beginning.
We switched the kool-aid flavor 😉
I only see us and EY complaining
I see less people from Kpmg posting in general, not just complaints. Most posts I’ve seen are pwc and EY. All the big 4 are more or less the same.. pretty sure we’ve established this already.
It is probably because KPMG just started using computers a few years ago so most of them have not figured out smart phones and apps yet.
There are less KPMG people here, but we also have a better culture.
Yup
I left EY for KPMG and I can legitimately say KPMGs culture is FAR better!
People from mid tier firms complain less, just the nature of the industry
FWIW I like the culture
I like K culture, but don't like how my immediate team culture is. From a company-level perspective it does seem that K tries to provide more flexibility and better benefits. I am currently considering an offer at EY, and to be honest I'm shying away because almost every work life balance / benefit item is worse than K. Stuff like less PTO, longer vesting schedule, WFH approval needed... Adds up to a significantly worse package.
WFH approval needed? That’s not a company policy, that’s a group/team policy. These organizations are huge and different parts of each are shitty and some are great. A blanket statement about one group or team in one city representing the entire firm is naive and uninformed
^ I should elaborate. That was for 2017. For 2016 it was EY, Pwc, and then kpmg. Whatever kpmg is doing is working.
@Audit Senior 1-me and my coworkers (regional firm with >3000 employees) complain all the time
Well how is someone interviewing supposed to know that? If the local policy can negate the firm policy then it’s not a very effective policy and the firm is making empty promises about flexibility.
EY3 must not spend much time on fishbowl. Fairly certain approval to WFH is a regional thing, not group/office thing
I think fortune magazine had best places to work as KPMG, Pwc, and ey in that order.
I think there's more people from DPE than KPMG. It'd be interesting to get a breakdown of numbers
How is Deloitte culture
Fair enough. I'm just going based on what I hear from friends (and fishbowl people) at EY. At the end of the day as you said, it mainly comes down to your specific team / office.
