These 60hr+ weeks in the summer have me burned out. Thinking of quitting without a job lined up with less than 2 months before my promo to manager is effective. Thoughts?

Im starting a new job but still employed somewhere else. I was trying to be open about staying at BOTH places. My current job won’t let me be part time because they don’t allow “set schedules”. Yet I am one of the only reliable and loyal employees in the department, and currently working a set schedule. So why will they not let me continue a set schedule but with different hours? This place is more focused on strict policies and not actually trying to work their employees and being flexible.

There is an opportunity in another office to build out their business in a large industry that I identified. The office has very little client base within the industry. The partners do not have experience in the industry and there are no senior managers or managing directors in that office. As a SM4, how do I go about asking to build out that business with the hope that it’ll build a strong case and accelerate my path to partner?

Guys, i have an offer at Accenture. I'm concerned about the probation period - 6 months with another possible 3 months.

I currently work in Healthcare as a respiratory therapist for 10 years. I have been at my job, currently, for a little over 5 years. Alongside my bachelors degree I also have a masters degree in healthcare administration. Although, I am happy with my current position as a respiratory therapist, there seems to be not a lot career growth with where the department I currently work in within my healthcare system. I am wondering what doors/opportunities I have if I were to utilize my masters degree?

I’m trying to get all my ducks in a row for when I quit here at the end of next month… I am taking a break to figure out what I want to do, so I will be unemployed for a time. Do I have to notify the ARDC of this change (IL licensed)? Do I have to immediately switch to inactive status or can I stay active in case I decide to keep practicing law just a few months later? I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP. I worked so hard to break into IB, put up all the hours and even working 2am nights for weeks, learned a ton, and improved a lot along the way as the sole analyst yet this happens. I’m extra worried because it doesn’t seem there’s IB analyst positions out there. Im really hoping come January more positions come up but I’m just praying they don’t fire me until then. Hi - I’ve moved to Toronto (from Asia) with 5 YOE in Corporate banking + 2 YOE IB/capital markets (7 YOE in TOTAL) working roles in Front Office and financial analysis.

A manager I work with is my official mentor at the firm. They expected me to do something for them in busy season when I was booked on another client, but when I try to get time to talk to them about my reviews or performance, they seem to just ignore my invites or reschedule constantly and last minute. Is it wrong to feel annoyed by this? What’s the motive behind that?
