PwC 🐠, I interviewed with the firm about 6 months ago for a Senior Associate position on the forensics team. I wasn’t extended an offer because the position was given to an internal transfer, at least what I was told. I tried reaching out to the recruiter I worked with last time but the email bounced back and wouldn’t be delivered. I was hoping to see / reapply if the group still was looking for seniors.
In your opinion, would it be best to reapply as a cold application?

I am asking that same question. Hospitals complain that they do nothave enough staffing, yet nurses who are applying are not being hired. I am wondering if this freeze allows for the instituition to get more federal grants.
I spoke to an exec about this recently. There are numerous positions posted but it can take 2-4 months for HR to get back to you. Also, many healthcare facilities are finding that they can operate with lower staffing so the positions are posted but no one is hired to help save costs until absolutely necessary. This is the case with the unit I’m currently on. I work trauma PCU and we went from 2-3 patients per RN to 4-5 patients..
You are not alone

I thought there was a need for nurses now. Is it that you're not seeing roles, not getting an interview, or just not getting the job?
I have no clue the school I was working was for agency. Then the agency told that they didn’t chose me to work for this fall. I think it has todo with funds.
Are you open to traveling?
I will say that the job market is pretty awful right now. However, I feel like hospitals are always hiring for nurses becasuse of how short staffed they always are. You should look into Universal Health Systems and see if there are any hospitals near you that are hiring OP.
You didn’t like school nursing or was it because the money isn’t great that you’re looking for something else? What kind of job are you looking for in nursing?
Look at MAT nursing. Pay is so-so, but hours can be good.
Try HCA hospitals! Memorial Hermann, Baptist, st Luke, Ms Anderson, Texas children. Not sure where you are but there are a plethora of jobs at the above listed places.
Are you open to residential care? My closest friend is a regional director who oversees several residential facilities. She's always looking for competent and reliable RNs. Unfortunately, many that come through the facilities are difficult. They refuse to complete certain job duties, take time off repeatedly, and even fall asleep in resident's rooms. The hard workers, that are reliable and trustworthy, are moved up quickly to leadership roles. Maybe it's something to think about? I know we all have our preferences, and nursing facilities aren't for everyone, but it really is rewarding work.
not a good sign, if they dont cut interest rates soon may be a recession coming.
Are they at least calling you, or has not a single hospital contacted you after you submitted your resume? If it’s the latter, it might mean your resume didn’t pass their search pool based on the content of your CV. If I were you, I’d edit it to include the keywords and requirements they’re looking for. There are plenty of nursing jobs out there! Also, try reaching out to your friends in hospitals—they might know of openings and could give you an edge by talking to their bosses and getting you a chance to be interviewed. However, if the issue is that you didn’t pass the interview, then you need to improve your answers to their questions. Based on my experience, when I was a new RN, they asked me basic nursing questions. After five years, they asked me about how to handle people. After a few more years, they didn’t even ask me anything related to nursing, and when I got an NP job, they didn’t ask me about medicine—instead, they just wanted to get to know me as a person. Remember, even if you’re a new nurse, they’re looking for someone who can follow orders, think critically, and with great working attitude.
Come to Fresno California and that's almost all you see.
Still good here in MD/ DC.
Y'all need to try hospice. Here in Houston you can't find enough nurses!
No. The story is the same. True all nurses have pretty much returned to work. But, business as usual. If they can make their current nurses work several shifts? Why hire outside. It all boils down to money. It's cheaper to work your nurses to death vs hire. Try a different position. Home Health, Hospice, Delegation, Nurse Manager. Hate contracts. They never leave you alone.
My sister just passed her Nclex exam a month ago, she just received a job offer right after her interview here in Los Angeles.
