That’s so funny I was just talking about this to my friend yesterday. It seems like every company is doing something shady and it feels uncomfortable to be a part of it.
Over 90% of them are using ATS, ai systems that read your resume before a human ever looks at it. Most of the time you get rejected without actual eyes looking at your resume
One reason is because unemployment is very low. Another reason is that because unemployment is so low that means that there are only specialty jobs widely available so you have to find out what sector is in the most demand and be educated in that area.
Unemployment isnt tracked correctly. That's not at all why. Vast majority of companies are using ATS systems to automate resume reviews, causing most applications to be denied before a human ever looks at it. And no this isn't something I'm just making up. Look up algorithmic monoculture.
The AI system drops about 98% of all applicants within 30 seconds. Nothing is ever seen by human eyed anymore. If you don't have 100% of the skills listed on the posting AI doesn't even give you a chance.
