Because it doesn't matter - we're not selling academic skills

That's mostly true. I got a slight salary bump and a very large signing bonus for my specialized Master's (as compared to Bachelor's offers), but didn't get the title bump that MBA's did. It's dumb, but not the worst that could happen.

like

Been there before. If applying for a generalist, masters give no premium. Specialists require working experience. Masters are not preferred either way.

like

MBA is a brand. Brands don't need to provide tangible value to be associated with more money.

like

We aren't ey1.but I suppose a masters equals an MBA in stature .what sort of skills are we selling with the mbas then

Ya but the masters requires as much hard work and loans going out of college .just saying.was just trying to figure the basis out

What do you think about the tools who put mba after their name on LinkedIn and such, I believe the on time you re allowed to have anything after your name is MD

Only time

Masters is only half the credits of an MBA. MBA is thrice as expensive as Masters.

Some practice requires masters as entry level. But not very common and the role is technical.

MBA you essentially pay to cover a variety of business topics an work in teams to solve them so it counts for something though I've seen my fair share of useless MBAs that obv just went for the resume tagline

More credits or more money doesn't necessarily mean a better job or a more knowledgeable person .i understand differentiating top twenty colleges but I would advocate for masters programs to be on there too .and either way a lot of us do our masters after four five years of work ex at the least , getting undergrad salaries is not justified

Just curious, what percentage of your billable rate do you take home? Calculation would be ((Salary and Bonus/Yearly Billable Hours)/Billable Rate). For me it's about 18% as a Senior 1 in M&A Tax (note this doesn't include other benefits).

I had 60 day late payment of 35 bucks in Jan. It was new Amex Hilton card I opened for stupid points. It was reported and my credit score had been consistently dropping from last 6 months. It was 780 and now is 735. I realized this 3 months and been paying my credit card bills immediately. Infact I have overpaid each card to have negative balance so my credit utilization is almost zero. What else I can do to repair the damage. I am applying for homeloan and this is big issue to get best rate

I don’t belong in my job. I didn’t mind it when I joined in January and was interacting but as we’ve been work from home longer, the less motivation I have. I don’t enjoy the work but I’ve gotten unlucky with my teams too, and can’t remember the last time my manager praised me without a critique. Maybe I’m just bad at my job. At this point I just am doing the bare minimum to not get fired. What do I do? Should I look for a job that I actually would enjoy doing or stick it out?
