Why soo many of us can’t even get an interview these days is it me or does it seem like the majority of the population now ? Where is it all going for everyone?

It looks like we all might have to retrain but in what I really don’t know?
there’s not enough of anything for everyone to do.
I’m thinking of going back to basics, maybe try growing your own veg cause we can’t rely on work for survival even though we really need to work ?
🤷🏼‍♀️🙏🏻

It's a very common problem these days. Most people are surprised as they've never encountered anything like it. There are some reports that a lot of companies have instituted hiring freezes, even if they're not admitting it publicly. This economy, and the world situation in general, just has people wary of hiring anyone.

like

The real problem is that we’re in a low hirer environment. So there are hundreds of applicants for most open positions. Making the odds that your resume gets to a hiring manager extremely low.

like

Yep I’d agree with this, just got to hope for an upturn but they isn’t really much you can do about it. Just got to increase your skills set as much as you can

It’s certainly rough out there at the moment and I can’t see it getting better anytime soon unfortunately

Sheila, are you reading the news? Are you listening to people?

Sorry @Works at PwC1 my reply was meant at Manager1 but I posted it on yours by mistake 😊😊

Thanks for the positive response 👍🏻
we’re all in this together, I’m not sure what we’re all going to be doing in the next year or two, back to basics I guess

Out of curiosity. How would a company view a potential candidate who has a period of unemployment to study for the CPA. I am considering to start studying for the exam but I know I would need to leave my employer in order to give 110%. I am contemplating the idea of at least passing one part while employed. Then leaving my employer to study FAR. I am considering to leave my current employer anyways, so it’s more of how my future employer would view that lapse.

Hi all,

Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both
KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.

Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.

Thanks!
