Wishing everyone a Happy New Year. May 2025 bring you all the things you've dreamed and wished for :) Any new outlooks/resolutions related to your creative path or career? Share it with the bowl! I think my resolution is to share more of my creations and not gatekeep them out of fear of being judged or shamed. I have come to the understanding that art can never be bad, so anyone pointing someone's art out as 'inadequate' or 'not enough' truly doesn't get what creativity and art truly mean.

Mine is to journal every day. As an artist, I've come to the realisation that journalling is the only way to get doubt and fear out of the mind and on to the paper for me. Once I unload my fears, my day is fresh and my creativity is inspired.

uplifting

Love that for you. Happy New Year OP. You've inspired me to maybe take your resolution up as mine too.

HNY OP! Thanks for sharing this thought of yours. Much needed at this time of the year.

So I recently graduated in the fall semester from school, and I am now trying to find a entry-level full-time position in my field. I graduated with a BA in Cinema and Television Arts; specifically in Entertainment Media Management. I wasn’t able to do an internship because of work and personal stuff. Does anyone know any good tips of what entry level positions I should look into?

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

Associate at an AmLaw 100 firm doing patent work. I applied to a part time masters program to try to pivot to a different technical field (still doing patent work, but in something that interests me more than what I’m doing now). Do I try to stick it out at the firm while getting the masters, ask for a reduced hours schedule, or get a part time, non-legal job so I can focus more on the program (one year).

Hello! I noticed some similar questions to the one I am about to ask and I apologize if I am being repetitive but I didn’t see this specifically (I am new so sorry if I am missing it). I am a RN and have been for 15 years. I was looking to transition into health tech but has been a bit more challenging than I expected. So, I have been working on trying to get in as a SDR but I am also taking a course for my PMP certification. Is this of value or should I focus on something else?

I have US and Can. HR designations and about 3 yrs in HR in Canada. I'm currently in a process improvement role in healthcare, but really want to work in HR. I live rurally with literally no open HR roles close by. I'm searching fervently for remote HR roles that may also offer US experience. I'd appreciate your thoughts!

Thoughts: Managers and senior managers should intervene when project folks starts working more than 8 hours. It's sad that initially everybody talks about 8 hours work goal but employee forced or end up working more than 10 hours. Company is not asking you to work more than 8 hours, it's the pressure from peers and seniors and managers who do "a gentle request" to finish a task asap.
Also managers, Please teach new techies to hold the horses and not put there peer in pressure.
