Yes — title and comp resets are definitely happening. In this market, some people are prioritizing stability, scope, or growth potential over linear progression. If you do take a step back, it helps to be intentional about the trade-off (e.g., learning, brand, team, work-life balance) so it still ladders up long-term.
Yep, no way am I asking for $250k+perks; not in this economy. We're just trying to survive at this point.
I'm not sure this is the best strategy, we should still try and be the ones in demand and thriving shouldn't we?
I haven't yet, but I see less and less appealing job postings out, so I wonder if I will also be in that situation once I'm in need! Maybe it is time to do a "market check" round of interviews!
Yes, it’s happening. Some people take a step back in title or pay to get into a better environment or a role with clearer growth. What matters most is whether the move resets your momentum and lets you build skills or impact you couldn’t before.
Unfortunately, in this type of economy and market, it will become a norm
