Wondering if there’s any way to get into a financial advisor/wealth management role without a 4-year degree.
I have my 2-year degree and 6+ years of experience in sales. No experience directly in finance besides payroll. Is there any way for me to work for a real financial firm without a degree or would you/they deem that necessary?

I’ve had interviews with NWM, E.J., Pridential, etc, but they all seem more like sales jobs than real financial advisor roles.

Would love any help.

I’m in the same boat. Literally my thought process maybe 2 months ago. To be honest, without the most exceptional connections while holding all your licenses and showing competence in Financial analysis/planning, your chances are slim. I sat here for 2 months with the same thought “2-year degree and I have a lot of sales experience, can I break into finance?” After 2 months of searching different avenues I realized the only way in is by finishing my degree and CFA/CFP so I can actually get into WM/IB/PE.
I would say if you have a dying passion for finance like I do, then go back to school and finish with a quant Economics degree or Finance degree and if your school offers CFA/CPA classes with credits that count towards your degree, take them. That’s what I’m doing. Hoping that within a year and a half I’ll graduate w my BS, CFA L1, and CFP

BCG PIPE Practice

I work at a hedge fund now. I spent a number of years in consulting earlier in my career. I’ve made some $ but the job is lonely. Thinking of returning to consulting.

1) Is the PIPE practice only due diligence projects? Or any segmentation of the service line beyond general “DDs”?

2) I’m 2011 out of undergrad and have done a few years of consulting and a few at a HF. Would I come in as a PL? Principal? How is this decided? What is typical profile of laterals who come in here

I'm seeking a transition from a high-growth Tech Scale-up to VC or PE. I'm armed with two years of Product Manager and, before that, 1 year in MBB; plus I've tackled extensive commercial due-diligence for targets anywhere from $50M - $500M - any idea to make this ambition a reality? Grateful for all advice.

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?

I’m done, not worth my mental health. But don’t want to walk away with nothing. Can exits be negotiated? Is this common?
