Working as a senior counsel in-house for over a decade and haven’t seen a promotion. Had a few conversations with managers and it’s always “people aren’t retiring” or “it’s a flat org” or “I have x plan for you”. Is it time to move on to achieve the next level? Comfortable role but the desire to do more is there.

You could put yourself out to market and see what you get back. This is a weird/uncertain economic period though so it also may make sense to stay put for a little bit especially if you feel like if times were to get harder, you’d survive any indiscriminate cost cutting exercise from corporate. At the same time, there is no growth in comfort and loyalty sometimes goes out the window if you leverage an offer for more $ or a promo and stay anyway.

Don't quit until you have a job secured, but I would be looking. Unfortunately that's the only way to get a promotion at times.

I am a traditional reservist so I never really used military benefits before, but could use advice here.

I am currently renting and my lease is not up until October 2021, however I found a good deal on a home and scheduled to close in June 2021.

My landlord will not work with me to end the lease early, so it looks like I will have to double up on rent and mortgage through the summer.

If I went on active duty orders, can I use those orders to break my lease early without penalty?

How would you rate the freelance market at the moment? I’ve recently quit fulltime, and beyond a couple of my own (LLC) short client projects - I’ve had zero agency freelance over the summer.
I have 10 years exp (2.5 as CD on well known brands) at respected agencies, and some awards.
What am I doing wrong? I left FT to address some long term burnout, but now I’m afraid if this continues - I’ll have to go back full time, without even snagging a FL gig. 🫤

Is there a special title at your company for a Project Manager that works on product development and not an IT project manager?

An example might include launching a new product from conception through form writing, rating, filing, programming, training, and implementation, or the transfer of products from an acquisitions writing company to ours.

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?
