You don’t know until you apply. For a large number of roles, google is now following the policy of “best vs. first” so they do not begin reviewing applications until the cutoff date (which is arbitrary, but at least a month)
It’s likely received a flood of apps, or is currently interviewing candidates (source: conversations with Googlers, general hiring trends researched online).

I would still apply.

If I’m not wrong, don’t you clear interviews and the go for team match for PgM ladder?
Having worked at Google - the hiring process can be slow. They spend a lot of time focusing on the correct fit. Positions can stay open for a long time, even with a flood of applications, because they have not found the correct fit around Googlyness, cognitive ability, leadership and role related knowledge and all are measured in the process. There are many videos on Youtube about the process and how one should prepare.
Thanks for the insights!
