A new teacher got her car STOLEN out of the teacher parking lot by a student during school hours. The car was located down the road, crashed and abandoned.
The PRINCIPAL told the teacher to discuss what happened with no one. When the teacher posted on Facebook (private account not public, to friends and family...some of the "friends" were colleagues) that her car was stolen at work and how sad she was, a colleague took a screenshot and SENT IT TO THE PRINCIPAL. The new teacher was chastised and faced retribution. Why? Because the principal wanted it to be swept under the rug. The new teacher put everything through her insurance, and the school did ZERO for her. Her parents had signed on for the car because she was young and they were treated terribly when they tried to find out what happened as well. At the end of the year (2-3 months late), she was "dismissed". The students who stole the car? NOTHING. One of the coldest things ever.
I happen to know that a couple of years later, the principal's sec had sex with her BF on her desk. I smiled a bit.
This was a WILD ride
