I’m an L6 SDM at Amazon but a Meta recruiter sent me an M2 sdm job description. I have all the XP I need from previous job experience but does Meta keep your same level as Amazon? Meaning if I am an L6 at Amazon am I automatically interviewing at M1 or can I jump to an M2?Amazon Facebook (Meta)

Big 4 vs International Law firms - discuss….

I was at a Big4 corp department. Culture was stale AF. Moved to an international firm and way happier.
For me, the key thing is that everyone in the team are friends. It helps that I actually look forward to work because I know I’ll see my friends, and that I can actually rely on them when shit hits the hand. Possibly I got dealt a bad hand previously, because my teammates in my former Big4 team were all “gunners” and frankly not very pleasant.
It helps also that now I’m given control over me time and freedom to decide where to steer the deal (after consultation with partners, of course). This is pretty partner specific tho - I’ve been to another international firm where the boss was micromanage-y and sly and paggro, and frankly it was a nightmare.
I can kick start. 3 pqe at one of the big 4. moved inhouse.
Wow Legal Counsel 1 sounds like a great work environment! What industry?
4 year PQE qualified overseas, worked in a Singapore law firm for under 3 years then moved into a fund management company. Questions?
I’m still new to the role, but so far it’s been very varied. There’s the transactional side (handling the investments into companies) and the BAU side (corporate secretarial work, fund establishment and ongoing administration, general in-house work like software licence agreements etc). We do outsource a lot, but our team is still very hands on with the work. I should also mention we manage 5 funds so the volume is abit more.
