I think you should just apply. Someone on the accounting team that knows taxes but can do other stuff is a gem.
As someone who is currently studying for the CMA exam I'd say the context of the material will definitely help towards providing theoretical knowledge of the day to day tasks for industry accounting roles.
However, having your CPA is viewed in higher regard and should be enough to get the role and be successful.
Getting the CMA at this point would be purely for further professional development so if that's what you want go for it.
Many senior accountants in industry don't have CPAs. Unless they work for top high tech companies, pay is low too. Specialized areas like tax, FP&A can be compensated better and grow with experience. If you want to work in corporate accounting, just apply. You will get it.
