I have negotiated PTO. It's not terribly uncommon to discuss this as part of your total comp discussion.
PTO definitely would be a great thing to be able to negotiate. Sometimes those added benefits can really make up for the pay. I always feel like you have to choose between great benefits or a high salary.
Negotiate PTO. How much PTO you think you need. I get 5 week PTO at my job in additional to all the holidays.

PTO is actually one of the only things outside salary you can negotiate. (Can’t negotiate health insurance/401k contributions/tuition/ext that I’m aware of)
I have done that and it worked great.
I have heard of people negotiating their PTO, but it's not common or promoted. I don't know if this is the reason why, but I can imagine that it would be a lot for HR to keep track of if everyone had an individualized PTO plan.
Thank you for confirming. I never talked to anyone that had to deal with several sets of PTO accruals, but even working with one system for everyone gets exhausting so I know payroll can get taxing when you have to calculate so many different things and remember who has what.

PTO is negotiable, but other benefits? Depends on what we are talking about.
In theory, you could negotiate lower premiums that you pay for benefits. You would be convincing your employer to pay them on your behalf. Gets really messy though. Especially the Pre-tax benefits. Not to mention the Discrimination testing.
I hear people use negotiating more PTO helps when company’s can’t help on salary. Another option is equity like ESSP or stock grants if your company provides any. Please research to understand if they benefit you. My ESSP was nice but my stock dipped so I’m not buying into the granted options.
