More likely they already planned and wanted to do a layoff and are blaming it on AI
Jack be nimble Jack be quick Jack hired too many ppl so his company got sick
Good job.

Investors love the “whoa! I just figured this AI thing out faster than everyone else!” much more than, “I mismanaged cost as badly here as I did at twitter!”
But if folks don’t have money because they don’t work, then who’s selling ads to whom? 🤔
The companies that have the eyeballs of all the screen addicted sheep and zombies will sell ads to all the consumer companies that are selling the non necessary crap to the masses.
You think money is needed to buy stuff? Have you seen where our poorest people spend their money and go into debt doing so? Or low and middle class pretending to rich.
It’s happening at McKinsey too but so far it’s been mainly under the radar. Bob Sternfels the global managing partner has been bragging about 25000 AI agents as if they are employees. Also news out in December that McKinsey is going to lay off 20% or more of back office staff this year.
What’s your take on all of the agents? Do you need an agent to tell you which agent to use yet? 😬

No, they were just bloated.
Maybe it was the $68M party they threw. Imagine being laid off after seeing that?

Its the beginning of the end
Time to go live in the woods
Jack Dorsey has a history of bloating his staff. He did that with Twitter, where Elon quickly slashed 80% after its purchase without affecting progress, and now Block.
Twitter is incredibly different now compared to before. You used to be able to open up a tweet and see relevant top comments and discussions. Now it’s all ads and porn

AI is just the excuse executives use for any type of layoff
This OSS just the beginning. All the tech companies will follow suit
Did you not see what happened to blocks stock price, economy will boom. This is exactly what ai of going to do. Money will FLOWWWW until universally basic income is a hot topic again.
Absolutely not. But they’re the first domino for every other company to reduce bloat and slash headcount and explicitly blame AI.
Currently staffed at block. Should be an interesting time
Nice, report back
No, I think they are using it as a scapegoat to hide the fact that they over leveraged themselves and over hired,
The serverance is solid I heard.
