Gotta make the decision for yourself. You know your situation and every factor better.
That being said, I would try to get through until February. Take all your PTO. Try to coast as much as you can.
Good luck!
I’m in a similar boat. It’s a very very tough decision. I’m trying to stay at the high paying job until I can’t last a minute longer. Brutal though
I would take it, personally. But can you still meet your personal financial goals with the 30% paycut - current and retirement goals?
Keep looking. 30% cut is too significant at any income level.
I mean, not at all income levels.
good remote jobs are not super common anymore, if you think you'll like it, just take it. do you really need the extra income at the expense of your physical and mental health? who's to say another remote job will be ready for you when you finally crash and burn ?
I took a 30% pay cut 4 years ago for an opportunity I was really excited and passionate about. It was a blow to my ego but also in a diff city and substantially remote. Hours significantly better. I’ve never looked back - best decision (and one that didn’t have any negative implications for me that I couldn’t handle). I’ve since made up the pay cut, so temporary setback but in the long term course of my career, I am now way better off than I would have been had I stayed.
