If this is for recruiters I’d settle for them just getting my name right lol
One told me my experience at firm B was relevant for the job at firm C, but I worked at firm A and had never worked at firm B. Easiest way to tell they were just spam emailing everyone and not worth my time.
I have one recruiter in my specialized area who has emailed me since I was a junior addressing me as “Mr. [middle initial] [maiden name]”. I am a woman (not even a gender-neutral name) and changed my last name years ago at this point. Attention to detail is not their strong suit.
Can you add some clarification here? Are you talking about recruiters sending cold emails? Sometimes postings may indicate a firm is looking for 3-5 YOE, but the hiring partners will actually consider someone more junior or senior. Not sure if that's what you were referring to.
Thanks for adding that context. As a recruiter, I get resumes from people still in law school and people with 10+ (sometimes even 20+) YOE for mid-level roles. Some job seekers are either out of touch or willfully ignorant about what makes someone a viable candidate, and if a person is no where in the wheelhouse of what I'm looking for, I just explain the specifics and tell them I'll reach out when I'm working on something that's a better fit. I think it's okay for you to do the same in this context if someone isn't a fit and you don't have time to talk or meet.
I’d settle for recruiters sending me relevant job posts. I’m a privacy attorney and get emails for project finance, environmental, patent prosecution, M&A roles.
I’m like…ok

I think they do that so that you’ll reach out and ask and then they can submit your application to other jobs.
