You all think 35 is too late to jump into IB? I told my friend it will be near impossible.

Working on the tech side of the bank, looking to transition into finance (not IB) & came across the IBI course that helps gain skills like modeling etc. Anyone taken the course/know someone who did?

Anyone who laterally transitioned from T2 strategy to MBB, are you glad that you transitioned or regret it? Why?

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!

Desperately want to get into healthcare strategy consulting. 13 years of healthcare clinical experience including project work. MBA. Salam. 23M here - all my life I’ve had my back on our faith - never really prayed but had imaan (I guess). After bouts of depression from girl problems (🙄), issues within immediate family, being disappointed expectations I had for myself, etc. I’ve been working on bettering my situation over the years. Interesting all the noise about these PPT, my take:

The pandemic took all the upside of an IB analyst life (client meetings in person, fancy trips, suit up, worshiped at networking events) and left all the juniors with the downside (long hours, monkey-like type of job, aggressive work environment).

Not that the complaints are not sort of legitimate but you may need to revise the decision-making process that led you to accept a return offer. Specially if you were looking for less hours.

Closing in on a corp dev offer. I work at a boutique (~10 ppl) where the analysts/associates carry a lot of weight during deals. What is the longest i could push my potential start date back to for this new role? I don’t wanna leave while i’m in the middle of a bunch of things and screw over my current firm. Received an offer for equity research and IB, both in toronto. ER paying $120k base and my understanding is that bonus can be around 25-30%. IB is paying $105k base but likely higher bonus? Which one would u choose if you think you would be good at both

I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP. I worked so hard to break into IB, put up all the hours and even working 2am nights for weeks, learned a ton, and improved a lot along the way as the sole analyst yet this happens. I’m extra worried because it doesn’t seem there’s IB analyst positions out there. Im really hoping come January more positions come up but I’m just praying they don’t fire me until then.
