Hey folks! I’m considering house hacking in the DFW area with a budget of $350-400k house max using FHA loan. Anyone house hacked recently and what area did you stay in? I’m also scared of how quickly it will take me to find tenants - how long did it take you to find your first good tenants?

Is DFW considered LCOL or MCOL?

I was approached on LinkedIn for a university recruiter role in DFW, TX. I don’t have direct experience but I have the university experience/connections from background in career services. This is the first time I’ve considered work outside of higher education. I said my salary expectations are minimum $90k and that didn’t seem to be an issue. Is that too low, too high, just right? How do I know I’m getting the best salary and not settling for the low end of the range?

Anyone think real estate in DFW will ever cool down?

Desperately looking for employment. I have been a Project Manager/Sr. Project Manager for the last 20+ years in the Geotechnical field but have experience in all aspects of construction. Minimum base salary to afford 850k home in DFW area assuming you already have money for 20% downpayment?

Does anyone have experience with AA lost and found? I left my iPad on the plane, put it in lost mode and can see it’s been shipped to DFW and appears to be in AA’s lost baggage area. AA was a complete sh!tshow this week. Twice my flights were delayed eventually leading me to miss my connection at DFW late at night. No further flights out. Had to overnight at hotel. Get to DFW this morning, complete disaster. Feels like this could be a combination of weather + cascading delays + labor shortage + fewer flights = disaster. Thoughts?

Plus inter-italy train travel, COVID test, other expenditures.

Ok road warriors, looking for input. I’m platinum on AA, about to hit platinum pro, likely to make exec by end of year. But I’m a bit fed up with some of my recent experiences and considering a switch to Southwest. I’m in Dallas and there’s no big difference btw going to DFW vs DAL for me. Any insight on TC for a Senior Acquisition Associate for a REPE firm? DFW Market

I have been an EA in the DFW area for 30 years. After a couple of bad experiences, I thought I would try something different and am working as a project administrator at a very successful engineering firm. The owner just bought a plane but, they don't provide coffee or even water to their ee's! They treat us like money is tight. They put everyone on salary here and no overtime. I've mentioned it and was shut down. It's not right. I plan to tlk to a lwyr. Anyone dealt w this before?
