Any thoughts on buying a 3bdrm condo in Chicago? I know the market is hot and property taxes are high, but wondering if the chicago market is like San Francisco and will keep going up no matter what happens with interest rates, the economy or property taxes. Should I take the plunge and buy or do many you think I should hold off? I know no one has a crystal ball, but just trying to get a sense for the current thinking from more experienced home buyers. This will be my first home purchase.

I'm relocating to San Jose in the fall. Looking for a townhouse/condo with 3 bedrooms, preferably 3.5k/month or less.
I don't know anything about the bay area as I'm moving from the East coast. Looking for something close to work, easy access to parks (I have a toddler) and a safe area to walk around.
Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated

If you had to pick an offer between Cisco (Software Engineer) or Accenture (Software Engineer) which one would you pick? Accenture would be in San Francisco, CA (Salesforce Tower). Cisco would be in San Jose, CA (A Cisco building I suppose). I received feedback from recruiters today saying that things are looking good and are waiting for compensation to draw an offer. From what I can tell, Accenture might offer between 140 -145 base and Cisco might offer 160 -170 base.

If given a choice between San Francisco and San Jose what would you recommend for an office location? I would need a 2 bedroom house with a backyard for a dog, all within a $3000 per month range.

Driving up the West cost from San Diego to Seattle looking for a city to move to. Cheapest way to rent a car? Anyone have a spare room, or guest house, or spare 2nd/3rd house I could spend a night in? This simple drive and lodge gets pretty expensive pretty quickly!

Is San Francisco really that sucky? I’m about to accept a job there and I’m wondering if it’s a huge mistake. I’m a city person, zero desire to live in a small town/‘burbs, fully aware of dangers of city living, ok with high taxes. Would it still suck?
