Have an interview with a partner at PwC Thursday for an associate role. What can I expect?
Can someone provide some color on this? I’ve been interviewing for an Associate (1-2 years of experience) role at a Big 4 firm. I’ve already had 5 interviews (4 actual team members and one HR) and they want me to have 1-2 more. Is this normal? It seems odd.
Currently at v10. Work is great, but its a specialist group, def not a revenue center for the firm. My billing rate is super high. little junior support. Zero mentorship. Basically a billing machine. Def won’t make equity partner. Interviewed with a boutique firm. Great people and similar work! I’m a senior associate. I want to give business development a try (I know I will enjoy it but not sure if I will generate business). Thoughts?
I interviewed with kpmg for a senior associate position. They waited until the offer to tell me that they see me best as an associate. Which would be a step back in my career and even less money than we talked about. The job posting says minimum of 3 years and I have 4. Don’t understand why they like to waste people’s time like this.
Got an interview with KPMG for senior associate - financial services. Most of my previous consulting work has been with technology and health care companies. Would it be too tough a transition to come in as an SC with no to little banking or financial services experience. I do like that space but don’t have much knowledge in lending and banking.
Requesting Grant Thornton advice! Can someone better describe the Senior Associate to Manager tiers? Ballpark level and/or salary? I have my second interview this week; have 6 yr exp + clearance.
Hi, I have a case study interview with Alvarez & Marsal for their London offices in the Transaction Advisory department. The role is as an Associate position. Do you know what case style it will be?
In August of 2019, I hit rock bottom. I was working at a T1 law firm as a summer associate, and was constantly drinking (before work, during work, and of course at all the after work social events). Things got so bad for me someone reported my drinking to HR and an investigation was launched. I have been sober since. But now I am applying to be admitted to the bar and the character and fitness committee is making me relive my darkest time on repeat. It is very triggering. (Contn in comments)
Working thru a case study for a final round Associate Valuation role - instructions were very vague but it’s basically broken out into 3 parts. First, explain the differences between company X and Y. Second, review their historical financials (last 5 years). Third, compare their historical financials. Looking for advice/recs on how to approach steps 2 and 3. Are there certain metrics better or worse for points 2 & 3? Should I combine both parts? If you’d like the PM that’s fine, thanks all!
Interviewing for a operational advisory associate position at a mid-market PE company based out of Florida. All-in pay is looking like $200k (for reference, it’s what I currently make as a senior associate) Anyone have experience working at a strategy consulting firm and moving to a PE advisory group? Any pros or cons you can call-out?
I want to hire an associate advisor who will also be my successor. I manage anout 77 mln. I want experience, their own book, willing to work with me on a couple of growth projects that I want to do, will enter into contract but 1st 6 months or 1 year will have get out clauses because I need more time than a couple of interviews to know well enough to trust with my clients. My plan is to be mostly out in 3 to 5 years, depending on personal and market conditions. I do not want to be bought by

Applying for a role at PWC - Senior Associate (Advisory). This is in the CRM space. No masters, 3.5 YOE. Would asking for 130k be too much? I’m currently at 110k but I’m thinking they won’t ask about what I currently make.
Any tips on nailing down a salary range to ask for in an interview? Interviewing for an associate role at a major bank and can’t find any good resources online to get an idea for what is a typical range
I’m curious to learn how many applications or how long it normally takes for a junior corporate associate to lateral into another position. I am a rising third year corporate and employment associate at a small/medium size firm. I’ve been applying since I completed my first year. It’s been over a year and I’ve submitted 100+ applications. I do my best to network considering my firm doesn’t support my networking efforts and I work with good recruiters. Just really want to learn the norm here.
I interviewed a potential summer associate last week and they mentioned that they read and found my law review note (6+ years ago) interesting and I'm not sure whether our law schools are taking the "research your interviewers" suggestion too seriously.
Applying to an entry project manager job at IBM. Currently a senior associate in Tax at PwC in FS. I feel like a PM is exactly what I want to do with my career but worried they’ll think it’s too long of a shot for a transition. Any thoughts? I really want this.
Netflix Content Strategy & Analysis I got an interview coming up for an Associate level role there with the goal to move to Manager after 1 year. 1/ Any idea on compensation (Stock & Cash split)? 2/ Anyone knows what to expect during the interview process? 3/ Understood that Netflix is a high churn company, it seems this is a pretty niche role. What next if you want to move for whatever reason (e.g: Relocate, Let go,...)? I am based in Europe so less exit opps than if I was in LA Thanks!

Interviewing with Twitter Strategy and Operations Associate role (Applied online without noticing that it was Twitter) Any suggestions on case studies for problem solving interview round? Also any idea on whether this involves any kind of product strategy work or only program/project management? Friend of a friend is a senior partner at MM PE fund and wrote emails to the VPs running interviews, recommending me as a "very strong candidate" for an associate role. I'm supposed to set up time with the VPs next week to introduce myself. How should handle this calI? "Hi - here's my background, call me if you're hiring?" don't think they're going to hire me without transaction experience. Fake it until you make it? Maybe propose coming in as an analyst if they say no?

Genuinely curious how common is a non-lateral (step up) move from T2/boutique to MBB? My experience so far has opened up an opportunity to interview for McK Associate with 3 YoE at a boutique consulting firm out of undergrad. I'm the equivalent of a Senior Analyst at McK at my current firm so a bit surprised I even got the call.

Hey y’all anyone working for Northern Trust? I have an interview for an Associate Banking Advisor. Any insight would be great. Laid off since March https://careers.northerntrust.com/jobs/associate-banking-advisor-18922 Thank you all!
I had a informational interview with an associate at an Investment Bank. Complete hardo, was asking me questions like how many haircuts are done a year etc. He also asked if I would choose a random company, do a model, and walk him through my assumptions. I’m going to include an operating 3-statement model, leading into a DCF and comps (companies and transactions). Do you think I need to do a sample M&A model or sample LBO for this company? I’ve never heard of someone asking for this lol

Hey got an initial interview with McKinsey HR for an Associate Position in Risk - any understanding of salary range as well as interview process?
Currently interviewing with a couple startups, one late stage and one emerging. Comp is roughly the same give or take 5%. Early stage is leadership role for a new division, late stage is senior associate. What are some things to consider with evaluating the offers and organizations themselves?
For those who interview what do y’all look for in your interviewees? I feel like when I ever interview for a technical role they’re looking for skills and experience first. But when I interview for a S&O/ functional role they’re looking for more fit, personality, and culture? Though i’m just at the SC level I’m probably wrong.
Do people send thank you notes to interviewers right after interviewing? Have an interview coming up but don’t have everyone’s emails. I was taught to do this. Is this expected?
How long does the interview process at Deloitte typically take? I had the first call two weeks ago, but no forward movement since then.

When you express an interest in a Credit Fund to a recruiter, will you fall under the PE or HF interview path?
I am a background check away from putting in my notice. KEEP grinding if you’re miserable and/or have trouble getting out of bed in the morning. This took a lot of ghosting and interviews+offer letters being taken off the table due to COVID. Stay humble and you’ll be next. Take a midday walk and schedule some coffee meetings to expand your network and stay sane.
I have an interview with OATLY’s creative team tomorrow. Are there any OATLY creatives here, would love know what it’s really like on the inside since a lot of in-house teams are a hit /miss. Would love to hear thoughts on management too!

Interviewing with Elixirr next week for a (Senior) Consultant role in NYC; recruiter connected me to opportunity. Concerns are that they do more execution than strategy and quoted compensation at $115K might be lower than industry average. Would appreciate any insight on reputation and career development prospects.
Any tips and tricks on PE interview model exams? Concepts and structure is there, but what strategies can you employ to be as efficient as possible when building under the tight timelines?
I’ve interviewed at several agencies over the years and I swear by one simple rule: if the hiring manager doesn’t send a thank-you-for-ditching-out-of-work-to-meet email, I don’t take the job. https://amp.businessinsider.com/how-to-write-thank-you-email-after-job-interview-2019-4

Does anyone know of where to find remote part time work opportunities for older Indian women? My mom was a part-time after school teacher but has not been doing that due to covid (dad is high risk). I’m having her do some online typing lessons to get her to be a faster typer, maybe find her a data entry gig. She does not want to do nanny’ing / babysitting. She’s a great teacher though and she’s trilingual (Telugu, hindi) - anyone know of where to find opportunities?

Accenture Strategy layoffs? .....👀
Just completed two years at D. Joined as an SC after MBA now an M. Cumulative earning in this period was 470k - base + bonuses + tuition + retention. I’d say that’s not bad. I even enjoy the work and am aligned with some partners that do some cool work. That said, my main goal is to make $ and I feel I’m now going to fall behind folks in other firms. I can manage bad WLB for another 5/6 yrs and I enjoy consulting. I think I need to move to another firm. Thoughts on my next steps given my goals?
Little sister is starting her internship soon. Will be making some decent money. What financial advise can I share with her? Should she open an IRA account or any other account? Will have about $20k-$25k in student loans when she graduates college. Very minimal savings so far

I’m done trying to compensate for a broken system. I know it means that the kids will suffer from a substandard education, but as long as they think we will pick up the slack it will never change.
Accidentally gave the wrong insurance information and was told there'd be a $1000 deductible. I can't stop thinking about how millions of Americans can't have access to healthcare because of this 😓
Hey everyone, so my sister and her boyfriend have both gained about 60-70 pounds since COVID started. I’m getting very concerned for them and I’ve seen firsthand how they’re developed awful eating and drinking habits and they hardly ever exercise. I’m very concerned for them, but I have no idea how to talk about it with them and not make them angry or hurt. Any advice on how to have this difficult conversation?
