In need of advice. I am wrapping up my masters in accounting while I am working in consulting; however, I am interested in tax. I want to transfer when I finish in May but seems like all the openings posted in ToD seems to be for tax seniors and above. I have pretty strong connections with tax PPMDs but not in my local office (not looking to move). Would it make more sense for me to leave Deloitte for an associate level tax position or take my chances at an internal transfer to tax senior?

1st year here with a chance to interview for an in-house associate role at a Fortune 250 company but I’ve only just lateraled to big law in NY 3 months ago. The pay is decent (120k) considering it’s a lower COL (Colorado). The role has a very limited focus, so I really won’t be exposed to much but there is a lot of opportunities to change departments later on. I was planning to be an in-house IP lawyer but not this soon. Should I stay longer in big law or go in-house and grow from there?

About to start as a first-year associate at a v50 firm, and I have received a phone call from a judge offering me a federal clerkship position beginning in the “Fall of 2022,” which I have accepted. When should I inform my firm about my clerkship? Do I wait until after I receive written confirmation of the clerkship from chambers and then do so immediately after, or should I wait a few months until after I begin working? Offered a Director of Strategy role in a fun and fast growing industry (think media/tech/entertainment). Total compensation is $260K (180K base, rest is RSU and bonus)

Currently I am up for EM in ~6 months and TC is ~$220. I’m not excited by my current job, but I don’t hate it either.

I think the new opportunity is in an exciting space but not sure if I’m doing the right thing by leaving at this point of my tenure (not interested in becoming a Partner) Help?
