Just had an hiring manager straight out declare that they need several months and ballpark of 30 (!) interviews to hire someone. It’s not even a crazy prestigious firm. In this job market. Thoughts? How can someone be so out of touch? It sounded like a dealbreaker to me considering everyone is interviewing with multiple firms at the moment (at least I am) and I see no valid rationale for that long of a process.

Guys, Need a suggestion between these 2 only. I have offers from both Cognizant and Wipro. Both for same location, same ctc and for Salesforce technology. Which one should I join and why? I am noticing that McKinsey is increasingly recruiting at non-elite schools (very roughly speaking not top 15 schools). At my old undergrad, 5 years ago the most competitive firm to show up was EY. This year McKinsey took 4 non-internship full hires. Why is McKinsey going “down market” for recruiting? Are elite school kids losing interest in consulting so McK has to cast a wider net? Or is McK seeking a wider pool for other reasons? I advise undergrads on consulting so want to be best informed.
