Did anyone only start using their middle initial when they became an attorney? I have no idea where I got the notion but I felt like it was too formal at all my jobs before I went to law school but totally appropriate once I was licensed. Is this a custom?
Anyone have people who work for clients who are either young or inexperienced and treat you as outside counsel like you’re their bitch...except 90% of the time they have no clue what they are doing?
When a partner sends back your doc with tracked changes, should I do anything more than accept changes and proofread again? Seems like I am constantly just volleying minor changes back to them.
Any advice for someone looking to transition into a full HR Generalist role from Recruiting. I’m currently a Campus Recruiter with about 5 years of HR experience (Coordinator- Higher Ed). I received my PHR certification in September 2020 and sitting for my SHRM-CP in two weeks. I’m having a hard time transitioning into a full Generalist position.
Is anyone noticing a trend toward offering part-time or contract roles to reduce risk/cost of bringing on full-time talent?
I’m interested to know opinions on which service is better for in-house counsel, Practical Law or Lexis Nexis? Or another option that I might be unaware of? Im an in-house generalist at a medium sized, service based company and handle a range of matters including general business, contracts, employment/international employment, IP, privacy, and technology. I want to be able to access templates, practice guides, and checklists.
How much nonbillable time is too much? I’m a second associate at a midsized firm and I have 30-50 non billable hours each month. An associate at another firm told me this was really high. Thoughts?
I’m a Canadian lawyer at an Aml50 firm in the US on a TN visa. I would like to take steps to change over to an immigrant visa (H1-B). Has anyone done this? If so, how did you bring up the conversation? How long were you employed before asking for this? Any help is greatly appreciated.
First year in litigation here. Just had a meet & confer call today with opposing counsel (first time speaking with him) and within 5 minutes after the call, he added me on linkedin. Is this normal?
Resume question. Do you include contract work on your resume or not if you have substantial reputable firm experience since (e.g. 5-6 years with the same firm)? Is having it in there better than the gap (~7 month gap) after law school? Just for full details, I was set to work at a small practice (~2 senior attorneys) and they rescinded due to losing a major client while I was studying for the bar in mid July) Thanks in advance for any advice!
Spam me with your favorite recruiters. Based in Arizona, need a very experienced Automotive Technician with 10+ years. Any suggestions. A firm that guarantees placement
Anyone have ideas for where to purchase a nice silver/onyx necklace? Price point up to $300.

Who has the best office location - independent shops? Droga, 72andSunny, Johannes&leonardo, Wieden, Work&Co?
FTM, husband is in finance and his hours are nuts. Next year he’ll probably be traveling again. His company makes him drop everything for a live deal. Any other fulltime working moms in similar sitch (partner with insane hours/travel schedule)? I feel like he’ll be stuck in the office so many late nights or on the road and I’ll be stuck taking on majority of childcare at nigh, in addition to working. Would love to hear how others navigated… do I need to find a job in industry with better hours?
Anyone ever negotiated a signing bonus as an experienced hire? I’m expecting a large bonus this year and will have to forego it if I switch firms right now. I’d prefer to wait until December and switch then. Know that won’t fly with the other firm timing wise so curious what others have done.
1 year post M7 MBA, at D S&O. Don't want to do this more than one or two more years. Should I apply to MBB or just ride out my next year+ then jump to industry?

Do "market" firms pay recruiters similarly? I feel mine is making special effort for a recent submission as opposed to others and I'm cynically wondering if it's because this firm pays a bigger fee.
How are some ways you can include physical fitness into your classroom? I like to get the kids out of their seats when I can.

Why do I feel so attacked? 😭😭
So my Rolex AD keeps telling me they have not received any shipments for TWO months but on google reviews I keep seeing customers posting about new watches they purchased (some with pics). Some posting never had any purchase history. All these reviews are within the last month🤨. Will I be blacklisted for life if I showed those reviews and asked what going on?🥺
I have a call later today to discuss salary expectations for a Senior Manager IT Audit role at a bank in the NYC area. I have about 10 yoe at a Big4 and currently make about $160 k salary only not including bonus. What is a fair range to ask for without undervaluing myself or pricing myself out of the role?
