What’s the best way to turn down a 2nd interview? During the 1st interview, I learned that the compensation for the role is not within the range that I am looking for and requires 400 more billable hours a year than what I bill now. I’d basically be laterally for my current salary just to bill 400 more hours. I also wasn’t aware that the local office was strictly ID. Firm website advertises lots of practice areas. Any advice? Hello, first post here. Outside sales, merchant services/card processing. I’m primarily a welder but I work 4 10-hour shifts typically then I try sales the last three days. I’ve done it long enough to where I’m confident and comfortable going to new businesses, establishing some rapport with business owners. But it seems like a lot of businesses see this as a waste of time, even adding services and cutting costs. I guess either I’m looking for advice or considering not doing this anymore.

I’m smart, get things done, self motivated. however I’ve hit career ceilings because I’m incapable of schmoozing, playing office politics, aligning myself with people who can boost my career. It’s just not in me. But I haven’t come to terms with it. Every time I go on LinkedIn, I see some idiot I used to work with has been promoted or jumped ship to some very senior role and it kills me inside because I know that I’m far more capable and yet will never make the same money.
