Guys, a query from me - got an offer from a reputed renewable industry company so wanted to know if I'll be going downhill or uphill in my career. Note: Position is in Europe, naturally way better money than India, and its an ex client wanting me to join them. He is keen to get me in.

Microsoft CE salary for dc area?
I have two years of automotive/aerospace manufacturing experience and am looking for new opportunities. I recently applied to a Solution Engineer - Commercial Manufacturing, Automotive, Energy (MAE) role at Salesforce, and it sounds like a great fit. Is anyone willing to offer me a referral or advice on how to move forward in the hiring process? Salesforce
Currently a Solutions Consultant at Pegasystems.
I am interviewing at and considering making a jump to Oracle as a Specialist Solutions Consultant.
The reason for my move is currently at Pega SCs are treated more as AEs or Account Managers. The role at Oracle would be more of a true SC position. I also feel that Oracle will look BETTER on a resume and someone as young as me would have BETTER programs in place to train me and give me the foundation needed to be a successful SC.
Thoughts?

The real question is, what are the best exit opportunity roles post sales engineering?
Bowl Leader
Good question. Folks, when you answer please be sure to delineate: Base, Bonus, Commission, Stock-Based Comp, etc.
I’ve had friends pulling in more than $225K OTE, and gotten recruiting emails touting up to $300K OTE on two different occasions recently for Senior Sales Engineering roles. I have 5 YOE, for reference.
I think OTE largely depends on the state of the company and the specific tech/role. Most are 70/30 split between base and uncapped commission, but vague about stock based comp until you’re deep into a conversation, so I can’t help you there.
I’ve noticed that senior sales engineering roles vary a lot in what they’re asking for. I’ve seen some that require a decade or more of experience in a specific technology, and others that want someone with more broad technical experience and lots of selling experience. I think the variance at the top of the market in OTE generally reflects the scarcity of talent for the job at hand.

I would say OTE would normally top out at $300k-350k + RSUs for a distinguished (level 9) SEs for companies like Salesforce if you stay the independent contributor path.
Commission has been uncapped and non-quota carrying at the last two places I’ve worked and with any I’ve spoken with. There are usually accelerators, so if the team exceeds goal, you get a bigger marginal commission rate on those additional dollars.
