Does anyone have any insight re: FordHarrison? Est. Salary for a second year, culture, billable expectations? (This is a repost, sorry).
I am looking into various L&E firms. Does anyone have any insight on FordHarrison? Salary estimate, culture, billable expectations, anything? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
Quick Expectation vs Reality Survey:
* What is your billable hour requirement vs your actual hours billed
* How satisfied at you overall with your job (work type, WLB, environment)
* What is your practice area?
Accepted an offer to work at a mid-sized firm in September post-clerkship. Offer is decent but not my top choice of a position. Considering to continue my search for big law although I already accepted the offer with the mid-sized firm. I understand this appears morally wrong, but does anyone find major issue with this? Thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Really stuck between a rock and a hard place on this one.
Can anyone give insight to what the day to day looks like for a workforce analyst and what skills would make them successful?
(Backstory) I was interviewing for an HR Business Analyst role with a company, I didn’t get the job but they referred me to a “Strategic Workforce planning Analyst” role they have open bc it would be a better fit. I’m an HR Analyst and have been working with HR metrics for a few years, but I’m not entirely sure what that transition would look like.

I am a female recruiter with 7 years of recruiting experience. I started with a new company and it was a raise for me. However I’ve noticed new recruiters joining the team, who are male, are coming on with a higher pay and lower classification/level than I. Any advice on how to confront the inequity professionally by still getting my point across thoroughly and directly?
Anyone worked at / heard of the AE experience at Brandwatch? A friend is looking to make the move there and I want to be able to give him some insights so he can make a smart decision if anyone has info
I hate the billable hour, the practice of law, and myself. I started out doing ID for a few years. Hated it. Transitioned to an in house gig, which was mostly collections work. Loved the work, but the environment was toxic. Now I do administrative law and I'm back to the billable hour. I live in the middle of nowhere, so I need to find a remote position. I currently make $110k. The jobs in my area pay half what I make. I wish I could find an alternative. I have no time for my family. I give up.
I applied for a job at a firm where two partners I previously worked with as co-counsel work. They lead the practice group I would be in. I thought we got along great, and they seemed to appreciate my work and responsiveness. I want to reach out to them to let then know I applied, but I don't know what to say and don't to put either of us in an awkward spot if they actually aren't fans and we have to work together again in the future. What do I do?
Does anyone have any insight on PIMCO Europe, specifically the London office and the Alternative Investments team? Insight on general PIMCO in house legal would also be helpful.

I’m only a year or two into practice and am wondering if there are any tips to best position myself for this type of position? I don’t anticipate making any moves that way for at least 5 more years. No clerking experience or law review, so that’s -2 points for me

Started a business to distribute supplies to coffee shops. (Biodegradable cups straws lids etc)
Anyone have insight into margins in the coffee/restaurant business, or how to scale the business beyond delivering to shops by hand? I'm wanting to build wholesale agreements (for my suppliers) but don't have personal experience to what one pays for regular paper supplies. Worried about eating into biz owners' margins too much.

I’m payroll certified right now— is it worth adding the ABS and TT certs? I want to continue to focus on payroll but wouldn’t mind small projects, or just understanding more about the other areas.
Does the full PATT cert really make a difference for opportunity/advancements or is lone Payroll cert just as desirable?
My other thought is CAN Payroll.
