6th year L&E associate here and thinking about transitioning to a position with better WLB. How do you go about getting a government job and are they flexible about WFH, at least a couple of days a week? Recruiters reach out all the time, but always about other firm positions. Tips/ advice much appreciated!
If you are feeling sick or something during the day and WFH, do you feel comfortable napping it off and then getting back to work and working late if needed? I have friends that say this is totally normal and okay but I feel weird about it and can never actually rest to feel better if I do lay down
I have been unhappy about my current job for a bit now, been at the company for almost 10 years, and have started looking for a new job. I have a solid job offer on the table, but a newer PE group just reached out and are looking for a high level either VP or Director of retail sales (my specialty). I am more interested in this private equity group as I would get to build a whole team and really make a retail strategy but they are newer so I am unsure the stability. Thoughts on working for a PE?
I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
What does your firm allow you to count towards non-billable hours other than standard business development?

I got my I-140 approval but EY Law said they can’t start I-485 until I get promoted. I’m trying to see whether I should apply H4 visa for my spouse so she can have an H4 EAD or wait until October to do this given I don’t get promoted and I-485 will be stalled for another year.
Hi! I have around 13 months of exp in LTI. My current project assignment gets over by December. And I want to change role after 18 months. Has anyone implemented Workday without experiencing massive regrets? It seems to be far more complicated to run advanced reports, export data timely, and be productive from a reporting standpoint. Also, has anyone had any luck with Reed Group as their leave management vendor? I’ve implemented Reed Group with both Lawson and Workday and the results have been abysmal each time from an integration standpoint.
