Hi, I am bringing together a team through a reorg any suggestions on how to bring a new team together remotely?
Anyone here struggling to get new meetings? A thread for posting what services your company offers and maybe we can help make some connections to get into new accounts.
Do recommendations on LinkedIn provide any value to potential employers? Do recruiters look at them? What do recruiters look at on a LinkedIn profile?
Anyone willing to share their sales leadership incentives based on team goals? What’s the norm here?
Has anyone seen or discussed this Petition for SHRM must support Black Lives Matter & the LGBTQ community? I’ve grown increasingly concerned and disappointed in SHRM’s lack of vocal support for employment protections for LGBTQ+ and black and brown workers, especially as a black woman in HR. It seems like SHRM is overly focused on what is absolutely “legal” and not what is right. I’m of the opinion HR professionals must not only be “legal” but have a relevant and compassionate stance
I’ve been struggling on whether or not I should talk to my boss about one of my assignments. I am an entry level HR analyst with one year of professional experience and she has tasked me with leading a strategic agency-wide project. This entails procuring a consultant, directing work of our senior analysts, leading a cross functional team to implement the project, point person, managing project timeline and deliverables, updating our policies and procedures to integrate the project, etc. To me, this is senior level work and should be done by the more senior analysts who have experience in this area. I understand it can be a great learning opportunity but feeling nervous. Thoughts?
What HR ticketing system do you use and what important aspects did you consider when looking? Our company is looking into ticketing systems and this will be our first time looking. Right now I’ve seen Zendesk, Workday and Happy Fox. Has anyone sued those before?
Do any managers do more than just manage and lead the team? Currently I manage the team, manage accounting, handle HR, handle marketing such as documents and emails, provide all of the technical support, and sell. My boss still works from home and only looks at the phone report to check the productivity. They refuse to look at my reports or complete activity logs. Because I have 4 hours of no phone activity daily, my boss believes I am not working hard enough. Cont.
I need to approach a manager who has received several comments that there is perceived favoritism. They have a team of hard, strong workers who have been with the company for years. A great new employee was hired several months ago with a strong technical skillset. The manager constantly praises this employee in front of the rest of their team, and consistently says comments like, "(New employee)" is the best person EVER to do this task!" making colleagues feel like their previous work in successfully getting that task done for years is unvalued. Any advice for how you would approach the manager, or how you would advise the employees who are submitting complaints?
Would anyone here know where to turn to or can share credible compensation data for the medical devices industry, specifically engineering roles? I’ve googled extensively but the results can often be competing and questionable on number of data points. Appreciate any help!
I have been working in HR since 2004. I have a bachelor's degree but it is not in HR, it's in a medical/technical field. My entire career in HR has been on the job training and I have worked besides people with HR degrees doing the same things they do. What extra skills do you think your HR degree gives you that you wouldn't have without the degree?
We are launching a DEI Taskforce and one if our objectives is to benchmark our diversity data with industry metrics (e.g. gender, age, race, etc). I've done quite a bit of research and can't find what I'm looking for. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Any advice would be helpful. Recently started at a tech consultancy and am building up the HR function. Thanks!
I studied Finance/SCM in school and am currently in a technical role doing process automation and chatbot architecture/development. I’ve learned the usual basics like python libraries/ml algorithms, case studies etc. What can I do to better transition to a role in Data Science? Does my business background help or hurt with the jump?
Would it better serve employee interests (fairness POV) for there to be complete salary transparency across the board? Or do you think the current system works and shouldn't be changed? - Thoughts?
You know you’ve made it when your review of a document consists of making comments that took 3x as long to write than they would to have just make direct edits.
I may be posting in the wrong bowl here, but does anyone have any recommendations for a professional resume writing service? Or is it not worth it?
I've gotten so tired of Indian Uber drivers asking me 10K questions about my background that I've started telling them I'm Venezuelan & that my grandma was Indian, which explains my name. Works! 😏
Best writer ECD (or seasoned CD) in the business? Bonus points if it’s a woman. Full disclosure: yes, we’ll try to hire her/him.
Coinbase is about to crash again. Can barely use it right now and been like this for hours with BCH and now spreading to the others
Does anyone know of a good therapist they could recommend in the LA area? Saw someone post something similar to this in the bowl the other day so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask. They don’t have to be LGBTQ+, but it would help if they have some experience in that area.
Stumbled on this article earlier today and it opened a can of worms about workplace culture that can be uncomfortable for Muslim women. I am not particularly a fan of playing victim, I would rather find a way to make things better. Ladies in here, are there any workplace norms you find challenging as Muslim women? Is this a topic worth having a chat about and possibly sharing ideas on how to cope/correct some misconceptions without sacrificing your values. https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/muslim-women-work-drinking-culture-law-a9363796.html?__twitter_impression=true
Damn. After working at an large aerospace supplier client for a few months, I am scared AF to fly again. Like watching my hamburger being made from scratch What’s the airplane version of veganism?

"“It’s unbelievable to me that we’re in a place where a response to anything is try to set someone on fire, that is—I just can’t believe that." It's time for the left to acknowledge this is no longer "mostly peaceful". Using a molotov cocktail to set a person on fire is not an exercise of free speech. https://www.kptv.com/news/portland-medic-urges-caution-after-officers-foot-catches-fire-in-wednesday-night-protest-involving-explosives/article_a0ea63b8-feb3-11ea-9897-6baa7858299d.html
Stuff like this is why people don’t listen. “Here are the rules, except for me... they don’t apply to me.” https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.detroitnews.com/amp/5254889002
