Does anyone have any info on Schiff Hardin regarding their culture and work/life balance?
Looking for advice on project management software or tools for HR consulting. Our firm doesn’t have anything that is standard or used at all, and while some of us are starting to venture into using Microsoft Teams, I feel like there are so many tools out there and we could be doing things way more efficiently. We work in small client teams (1-3 team members per client usually) and it’s a mix of strategy, tactical, and outsourced HR work. Any suggestions?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I recently started at a larger software company as an AE. As I’m getting more into the process, I’m finding things odd. Like, cold calls and emails are metrics I’m judged on more than closed won business. I know that’s part of the job but it seems strange I’m judged on it so heavily. And, I seem to be the first real outside AE hire as everyone else seems to have been promoted up from SDR roles, including all of my direct management. I’m questioning if I made the right move. Stick it out or look?
When drafting an MSJ is it better to address the ways that OC might overcome it; or is it better to just generally say why you’re entitled to MSJ and avoid tackling the finer issues that your MSJ presents?
My big Law firm has an affinity group for black attorneys which I really appreciate and have benefited from, but is there if nothing for black non-attorneys. Suggestions for a team-wide task system? The main partner I work for wants me to create and continuously update an internal list of tasks/timeline/important deadlines for every litigation we’re working on. So far I’ve been just updating a Word Doc and sending it to the team every day or two but it’s not very convenient since I don’t know what new tasks the rest of the team is working on. (We use Gmail rather than Outlook if that makes a difference.) Has anyone used Monday software for this?

For those of you who have started a new job while WFH: how has it been learning your new role without the benefit of being in person to ask the small questions/ “looking over a shoulder” to see how business is typically conducted? One thing Covid has taught me, sort of, is that I have no friggin’ clue how to manage adhd. When work was so unpredictable, I begged to WFH when I was overwhelmed- and did 10x better. But having to start full time with a company 💯 remote SUCKS- I can’t get shit done. There’s nothing engaging without team morale to motivate me through dull shitty work. My brain would rather redecorate/organize/tidy/cozy up my space than learn something new that I’m not even the least bit interested in.
Hey, can someone share the total compensation picture at PWC for advisory? I’d be coming in at senior associate level. For comparison, my base salary is 120k, bonus around 10%, 401k match at 6%, and ESPP for 10% of my salary at a 15% share price discount. What does the full package look like at PWC in addition to base salary?
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
