Hello please can I find Victoria’s boot camp I keep hearing about this being great to study for shrm exam but I can’t find it anywhere thank you
I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? What skills do you need, or is it really just based on YOE (I am the youngest compared to my teammates, many who have 10+ YOE)? I feel like career pathing is not very clear at my company. Each time I ask for guidance on this from my manager, I get told they’ll look into it.... would love some external mentorship and thoughts 🙏🏼
To those who have several years of experience ion TA: Do you think staying in the campus recruiting space limits you? Should one try to get exposure to other HR areas for the long run?
First time founder - would you recommend square, stripe or something else for purchases between $150-$10k or what alternatively?
Workday HELP! I need an amazing consultant or contact who can help us fix our workday woes. I’m not in charge of workday but I’m determined to fix it. We have massive issues with the complexity and ever changing security/permissions/workflows implemented by our system analysts. Every couple of months it changes and we all have to relearn simple tasks again. The analysts try to blame the users but I know it’s more than that.
Any female MM/ENT AEs with SaaS or Fintech experience looking to make a move? Series D company positioned to IPO in 2 years. Would be wild if this works lol
You’re constantly showing up for everyone else, but who’s showing up for you? I started an initiative to coach HR/people leaders because I know what it’s like to be doing all the things for everyone else with little support or focus on your own well-being, growth and development. It’s a lonely game! I’d be delighted to create the space to make you a priority. Would love to offer a free session, or simply connect: https://www.chrisrollins.me/peopleleaders.
How long does it take to get over ptsd from being in a toxic micromanaging environment? I was a top biller and top manager at a large staffing company for five years and was treated like a child. The place was crazy. Six months into my new role I’m still scared to request PTO or afraid that my boss would be mad if she found that I took an afternoon break to walk my dog.
Does anyone have any creative suggestions for providing role clarity within teams. We work diligently to maintain job descriptions and communicate team changes broadly, but our employees are still craving some sort of additional reference point of how positions interact with one another. We have Sharepoint and we’re thinking of putting more job info there next to peoples names and titles. Look forward to suggestions!
If you are feeling sick or something during the day and WFH, do you feel comfortable napping it off and then getting back to work and working late if needed? I have friends that say this is totally normal and okay but I feel weird about it and can never actually rest to feel better if I do lay down
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!
Conflict of interest. Can a company find out if you start to work for another company? Also, is it really a conflict of interest if you work for both companies in the same position, but the companies are in a different field (e.g. pharmaceutical and social media)?
Would my bosses let me move to work in a different state? I work as an internal consultant within KPMG, working for the firm within the internal HR team. I have been with KPMG for 5 months but I am wanting to move back home to be with my family - on the other side of the country. There’s only a 2 hour Timezone difference and I’d make sure to work on current time. My line manager I report to lives in another state to me anyway - and it seems to work well for her. Am I pushing my luck to ask?
What is salary range for experienced Tax MD from Big 4 at mid-tier firm like BDO? Anyone made the move? Regrets? Recommendations? advice for offer negotiations?
Does anyone here work as an independent sales consultant? Maybe handling sales leadership, enablement, rep effectiveness? Looking for possible mentor to connect with.
I’ve been at my current company for 6 months and my direct manager is exiting the company. I’d like to ask if I’d be considered for the position but am not sure how to go about it? Is it worth it when I’ve been with the company such a short time? I come with expertise and background for the role but haven’t built the rapport at this company. How do I facilitate the conversation without seeming selfish?
Just got an offer from my dream company! Should salary negotiation be carried out over the phone instead of email?
Anyone want a referral? My office needs a manager specifically but we have other openings as well. Can be 100% remote if you don’t want to relocate
My client's last line in every email is 'we need this as soon as possible.' I really want to tell him to f-off because they still owe us stuff to be able to finish their return.
Went to school to be an art director but have found myself in a role that is more so hands on and production based and I really like it! Any suggestions on how to move more formally into the production world?
I think single bowl and confession bowl are taking audience from WFH/ Coronavirus bowl 😀
Anyone in Chicago ORD want an extra united club pass? Was gonna use mine today but got on an earlier flight
Burned out, having anxiety attacks due to this job. Not sure what’s next, but this isn’t working. Do I stick it out until promotion, or leave now? 18mo at Big4, pre-MBA
Anyone thinking about starting a new career or have already? I’ve been doing this for 14 years and kinda sick of the limited opportunities, agency politics and “blah" Creative.
So, it’s time to have that raise/title bump chat with my CD and I’ve done some solid award winning work with my partner over the last couple years. Here’s my rub. I love my partner but I carry so much weight in our partnership, put so much more into every project and just generally have a lot more passion for the job. When it comes to concepting, I feel more like my partner’s CD than partner. I do 99% of the ideation and always bring them into the process but, for the most part, I find myself…
How exactly do I put a lateral move on my resume? It’s at same firm with the same title just a new role.
IBM to Accenture switch I have total 16 yrs exp (6 yrs as independant contractor). Currently at IBM (5 yrs at senior manager). Making 210k. Got an offer for Accenture SM (L6) in the SAP area. Getting 225k base, 30k RSUs and 30 K sign on bonus. They bringing me in at 12 months level. I am wondering if the move is a good one. Any thoughts ?
I’m averaging 180-200 billable hours a month, at a firm with small bonuses and salary slightly under Cravath (and the gap widens as you progress). I like the work and the people I work with. Advice on whether to stay put or seek more $$$?
Hey, guy in airport bar. Stop grinding on that deck, it's Friday of a holiday weekend... lighten up 🌴🍹
How to do about negotiating total comp? I want higher base but are firms more flexible on equity?
In Intl tax, receiving recruiting offers for all remote work at the manager level. However, I am about to get promoted. Only concern is if I don’t jump soon, I’ll be stuck at the big 4. Any thoughts? Should I entertain?
Are there any differences between working as a S1 consultant in big 4 versus senior consultant in industry? Is 10% worth the move?
Anyone working in Corp-dev M&A willing to share their experience? A role came across my radar for an M&A analyst at a PE backed FSI firm. How are the usual factors - comp, lifestyle, future exits/opps, etc
