The current administration has banned critical race theory-based diversity training across federal agencies claiming education around white privilege is anti-American. As someone who is dedicated to anti-racism work, I believe these conversations on the pervasiveness of systemic racism are necessary in order to dismantle the broken system and are central to our work as HR professionals. I fear what precedent this ban will set. Thoughts from other HR pros? https://www.forbes.com/sites/janicegassam/2020/09/05/trump-bans-diversity-training-claiming-its-divisive-anti-american-propaganda/
My firms already posturing like layoffs are imminent. They aren’t closing and asked us to let everyone know we’re open. The response to our announcement of staying open was catastrophic- cont.

Tips to bill more when there isn’t a lot of work coming in? I’ve asked for more work, but feel like no matter what I do I’m not billing many hours/not capturing time. Trying to maximize my value.
Any tips on writing good billing descriptions that don’t get cut? Any books tools that have helped? I find that no one tells you what to Bill for, how to Bill for it and a general time frame that’s appropriate
I have been reading posts from newer associates about bad things partners have done or said to them and I think it could be fun for some of us more senior lawyers in the bowl to tell stories of mean things partners did or said to us when we were new associates. Hopefully it stays mostly light and not horrible things.
Has anyone else felt burnt out before? Like things are too much? I need to hear other lawyers’/ young lawyers’ experiences with burn out so I don’t feel so weak
How often do people here cry in their office?? Happens somewhat regularly for me when my deals get overwhelming. Maybe a sign of burnout, idk.

I am writing an #article on the value of #transferring from a T2-4 law school into a T1 law school. I am looking to interview #attorneys who decided to transfer and those who decided against it. I want to know why you did or didn't do it, what factors you took into consideration when making your decision, and how you feel about it now. The goal of the article is not to sway #futurelawyers in any single direction, but rather highlighting all of the critical factors that need to be considered.
Any recommendations for some with a Biomedical engineering background but work experience in IT implementation and product management in the life sciences to transition to life sciences consulting? I’m looking for an exit opportunity out of my current role and would be interested in connecting if anybody would be willing to connect. Thank you!

As a vet, what are your thoughts about the compensation griping going on? I mean, coming from the enlisted ranks to the salary I've grown to now, I tend to feel incredibly fortunate to be where I am. Not knocking the recent grads for making 80k+ as a 22 year old, but having started as an E1 it kinda gives a different perspective on things.
Do any of you live in a city other than Dc? How often do you travel back to dc? Ever get staffed on dc projects and have to travel back? Is that an option? Looking at moving to ATL. But want to
Cyber Accenture 🐠, if I take a job there, is it all implementation work? Im looking for the opportunity to do some short term assessment/strategy/roadmap projects. Accenture seems much more tech/programming focused/capable than other B4, but that worries me that I’ll be stuck doing implementation based on other firm’s roadmaps. Any insights?

I’m a 27 year old attorney with 2 years of experience. Due to a very strange set of circumstances, my small firm is downsizing- leaving me in a position with WAY more responsibilities than I feel I have the experience to handle. The pay bump is sizable though and I’m sure I can get up to speed, at least in the substantive aspects of the kind of law the firm practices... Any advice on jumping into the deep end??
