Friends! I’m starting the research early on a watch in the $2k range (give or take a few hundred) which I won’t buy until September/October when I get the other half of my sign-on from a job change. M…

Trying to decide between Tag vs Longine vs Raymond Weil in the entry level segment. Budget around 1500. Any recommendations will be appreciated . It is for business casual setting. Thank you!
About to start interviewing for AWS and the recruiter sent me a 120 minute assessment to take before the interview process starts. Looks like most of the questions require Audio response. Has anybody taken this? Looking for advice on what the questions are like and the answers they’re looking for. Thanks.
Hey guys. I’m the event planner for CLSA at my law school and was wondering if anybody is willing to be on a panel regarding ethics during the coronavirus regarding the way confidential information is sent and received, how you guys use zoom for depositions or any ethical challenges you’ve come across during this time. Thank you!
What does your work schedule look like (roughly) if you are aiming for 1900 billable hours?
We are looking to re-do our company dress code to match a more gender-neutral, inclusive environment. I have some references I found online but it would be amazing if you would drop your formal HR policy dress code image below!
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
First time founder - would you recommend square, stripe or something else for purchases between $150-$10k or what alternatively?
Any information on Akerman? Culture? Hours requirement? Pay? They have remote positions now, not sure if/how that affects pay.
I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
I have worked in the HR space for the past 9 years, however most of my experience has been in Talent Acquisition. I do want to move into a People Operations/Generalist role. I’m planning to go for a HR certificate but unsure if I should go for a PHR or SHRM. Please advise!
For those of you in house, do you actually read the articles written up by law firms? I’m constantly being asked to do this non billable work and I’m not in a place to reject and want to know the actual value of this exercise.
Monday morning and the only thing that goes through my mind is wow I hate my job. Between the strict requirement of releasing billing time daily, high billable goal and I guess a heavy workload (and everything that comes with living through a pandemic) it’s hard to start my day excited for work. And I hate it. Makes me question why I’m doing this for a living.
Trying to work with my team in a remote environment by getting them more disciplined. What's your Monday routine?
Let's talk about Christmas bonuses: Should you be penalized for leaving your firm in your bonus if you've generated significant amounts for the firm? Is that common practice? Disgruntled associate. 😂
Anyone have any thoughts on Orrick SF?
Any thoughts or insight into Skadden’s litigation group in Chicago? I am currently a third year associate.
Ladies & Gentlemen, with one month left in Q2, some will fall short of our numbers. Others will hit them. I can’t speak for all of us here, however, I can speak for myself. That being said, I will NOT be one that comes up short of my number. Now, this leads me to you all, to present a question. If you have to prospect, if you’re looking for new business, is it worth $1500 to put 95% of your prospecting process on autopilot? If so, let’s chat.
Happy 2017 everyone!! How's everyone feeling?
I am going to resign from TCS within a week. My question is, will my salary increment in notice period or it will be same as it is now ?
The last show you watched represents the theme for your classroom this year. What is it?
What would make you take a chance on someone for a role? I have a strong reputation within my network, but I'm trying to get staffed in an area outside it. (From SAP to digital native technologies)
Hey I’ve been struggling with interviews lately, does anyone here out of the kindness of their heart want to do a mock interview with me? :)
Got an interview invitation from Deloitte’s internal corporate strategy group (consultant). I assume no client projects. Anyone have insights into internal corporate strategy consultant roles?
Does Salesforce ask applicants to provide references or performance review information at any point of the interview process or when an offer is extended? Concerned because I didn't receive stellar performance reviews this quarter due to utilization
Going through interviews and struggling a lot with social anxiety and feeling awkward. In final rounds at a company where the next interview will be strongly focused on understanding personality and fit. Doing great on content but really can’t connect with people, especially over Zoom. Being a strong introvert doesn’t help either. Any recommendations on things you would do to connect beyond job related Q&A? Also, any tips to control nerves during the interview?
H1b folks: friend got selected in H1b then realized that law firm's submission had an error. Put country of birth as Niger instead of Nigeria. Anyone ever had a similar issue? He has notified law firm
Do any of you apply to jobs from your work computer? My personal comp is so old and out of date that I lost my word licensee. Or better to email resume to my personal comp?
Thinking of dipping my toes into real estate and wanted to see if anyone has any books/ podcasts/ courses or even any tips or advice that you wish you had when you got started? Goal is to diversify my investments past the stock market. Any help is appreciated!
If Google (or any other company) was truly committed to diversity and equality, they would simply hire only the people they needed to until they balanced the scales. Anything else is BS theater.
If you could customize your ideal associate, what traits would you want? Don’t be greedy, pick 3. Why are certain traits you picked valued over the other? Also, what are some of the pet peeves you’ve seen in client associates I should not repeat? Work intimately with different FAs and want to read some perspectives. Thanks in advance!
How competitive are the extended coronavirus rounds going to be? Think there is a legitimate shot at being accepted?
A week or so ago, someone shared a stacked bar chart of each MBB/Big 4 firm that highlighted the percentage of consultants that say they work 40, 50, 60 hours etc a week at each firm. I have searched endlessly to find that chart but haven’t had any luck. Not even on google. Does anyone know the chart I’m referring to?
