650k. Anyone telling you to take 400k less and live in Dallas doesn’t know anything about NYC or they’re crazy. With 650k you can afford a very very nice home in Brooklyn or queens and an even nicer home in Staten Island. Or you can just move out to Westchester. That’s a quick ride on the train to grand central. Bottom line. You’ll live like kings in nyc with 650k.
This
I make $600k in ny and live in long island which has high property taxes but great public school. My wife stays at home and we have 3 kids. $600k goes a looong way.
Nassau county gang
For me I would choose Dallas but I never want to live in NYC. You have to decide what’s most important to you
I live in Dallas, I would take the NY offer even if it was the same amount as the TX one. I hate living here, run run run.
Nyc every time bro
If you don’t mind me asking, what is your specialty and company are you making $600K as a Sr Mgr? FAANG?
That’s what I wanna know too. That’s such a big discrepancy between both offers and even 250k is on the high end
Brand value is better than actual cash. I think, NYC has multiple value adds than Dallas. Don't just See money. See how lucky you are that u r entering best market on the planet.
Humble brag
600k in NY sounds lovely lol
600k in nyc for sure. You can live a fine lifestyle, even with kids. Access to all the amenities of americas biggest city, and the money to enjoy it.
600k?? Been working my behind off for 20 years now and am just at the 200k mark! How/where/why/ when.. dammmmmmm!
COL is almost half in Dallas, without tax considerations. If you want more bang for your buck, I’d stick with Dallas.
Lmao that would maybe account for half of the delta here at most.
Feels like you could ask for more money and stay in Dallas. That spread is more than the difference in cost of living, though the similar lifestyles will look different. So unless they are actively trying to encourage people to go to New York, feels negotiable.
I'd push for 350k
If you forget about the numbers for a second, do you want to live in Dallas or nyc? Then you check the numbers, shouldn’t be a difficult situation
Those are crazy different offers. Can you find 450k in Dallas?
I wouldn’t take any less than 509k to run the Cracker Barrel account
Things have really changed since I made 80k as an intern. Thanks Brandon. Jeeesh advertising is hard.
🤣🤣🤣
The delta definitely does not make up for the difference.
Take NYC at 600k without hesitations
Don't know much about NYC, but 250k in Dallas is unheard of. That's an amazing offer right there, with federal taxes only. Don't just look at absolute numbers
Lol $250k is not unheard of in Dallas. It’s a major commercial hub in the country, it’s not like we are talking about Little Rock, Arkansas or something.
How do you think everyone and their mother can now afford a $600k home?
Chief
Yes
Jesus…. 650k for senior manager, that is insane from London perspective, salary here is £80 k
