I am new to consulting. The work/project is fine, but I feel pretty out of place socially. I have trouble keeping up with conversation, I am slow to even understand what is going on around me and I feel I can’t “banter” - a lot of my inputs to conversations are “that’s great!” or “wow!” and share a bit of my perspective. But it feels like it brings the pace of the conversation down. Are there any “reps” I can do to get better at this style of conversation?
