Yes. It’s weird to stay more than 2-3 years

Yes I know someone who switched at 4 months
As in, moving from one consulting firm to another. I love my coworkers here but the work isn't as interesting as I had expected, and I think it would be better at one of our competitors
In general less emphasis on magic time BD type work and less churn caused by MDs with far more experienced teams.
But I would say who at the firm you work with matters more than the firm itself. I was in a bad situation with no path to partner but if you can fix your situation internally by expanding your network that should be option 1.
Bruh if you don’t switch every 1-2 years in tech, THAT would be super weird.
Ya
What’s early? I switched twice (2 years at each) and I make more than most of the people I started with at the first.
I generally think 6 months to learn the job, 12 to 18 months to master it, then 6 to 12 months to move out or up. You can do that in one company or multiple.
I’m looking at exit ops about 17 months in and in the few interviews I’ve had no one has ever had a follow up or shown skepticism to the phrase “I’ve worked with firm X for a year and a half”

It’s weird if you don’t these days
I guess the question becomes “at what point do you get labeled a flight risk?”
Yeah. I'm also concerned about losing connections I've built up at the firm
