I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

I plan on being one of them.
And those are some of the top/most knowledgeable agents around in that age class, the ones behind it need work😂
🥳 I look forward to it. Hopefully, it becomes a bit less of an employer's market as a result, and we see salaries start to climb again.
More brokers that have no clue what they are doing but try to bully uw’s into doing what they want.
I for one will be training the next batch of brokers to know what they're asking for and to show professional courtesy to underwriters. Having been an UW myself for over a decade I know what these qualitiesare worth. Some of us have your back. ;)
AI and very few field appraisals for auto
I will be one as well.
I get that sentiment. I worry a whole generation is retiring with the same sentiment though: I got mine and I don't care what happens.
I don't think anyone is being mean about it. It's just that in the last decade, we've lost all loyalty and meaning in work. The desire to see the company continue has gone away
I'm pretty sure AI is going to make all of this a moot point. Most of us are going to lose our jobs in the year or so, so people retiring won't make a difference.
In the next 5 years, we will see a massive change in how claims are being processed. First of all, AI has had a major impact on certain markets or cities as it's still in the Beta phase. Second , with Verisk and their subsidiaries means more adjusters will be handling work from a desk than in the field. Xactimate has already proven during the C-vid days that a Face-to-Face call can take care of most basic claims. Next, with Corelogic, Eagleview, Lidar and Drones, roofing claims will be easier to either pay or deny from the office. Plus the use of Matterport scanning done by mitigation companies which can be downloaded into Xactimate or Symbility will almost eliminate field adjusters. These technologies will eliminate thousands of jobs and/or departments across many companies. Besides if the insurance company you are working for isn't using these aforementioned technologies, then your company is either going to get bought out or fold.
Can’t wait!
Why retire??? Work out of a home office.. there is always a need for their products...just work part time to boost your income...unless your rich and don't need the money?
That sounds good, but only if I can have a lot more vacation and flexibility. I’d definitely think about working longer if I could have a 4 day work week and an extra two or three weeks of vacation.
TBH, I think carriers are being quite short-sighted with hybrid requirements-my company recently added an extra day in the office—and not being more flexible, especially for “semi-retirees” if we want to call them that. older people in their 60’s often still have family obligations to older parents.
We’ve had a pretty big drain at my company in the last couple years—it’s very obvious.
Agreed between this and AI, will be interesting. just a few more years to go until retirement at least for me.
