6 mos into my first OSR role at MSP and panicking. I have a analyst background, no formal sales experience, and zero management since the sales lead was fired week 2.
I fell into analysis paralysis, but fixing my metrics now. I built a pipeline alone—took multiple $8k MRR deals to the 1-yard line—but they fell through on price. Now I'm on a July ultimatum to close a deal and get 3 on-sites.
Base is $35k, commission is 1st month's MRR only (no project split).
Is this job broken, or salvageable?

The pay is good but I’ve seen a handful of websites with employee rating that is really bad. Each site has roughly 10 reviews but most are negative. Mostly referring to toxic culture and zero work life balance. How true is this in this sales org and the company in general? This is a backfill role after a 3 year tenure for the person who left.

What is the best way to structure a discovery call for SaaS sales? e.g. share a deck, only focus on their use case (current state, goals, pain, etc.), share a story, etc. Lastly, how do you go further than surface level, like if they mention they are having issues with xyz, which is usually a symptom of the problem and not the problem itself.
