Won’t have much luck tbh. Pay bands are set per level. The most compelling case you could make is if you have a competing offer with another FAANG, otherwise Google won’t care too much to cater to your asks bc they have 100 other ppl lined up who’ll take your job for less

Sign on bonus and equity. Year end bonus is standard by level based on individual and company performance
Worth a shot. Worst they will say is no. I negotiated my equity (GSUs) up to 100k from 30k.
No but I was a returning intern

I didn’t use any negotiation service and got 20% more RSUs without a competing offer earlier this year.

Yes. Sign on was part of the original offer so I only pushed for more equity when I countered.
I used a negotiation service and had good results. Jeff H Sipe.
Compensation increase FAR in excess of cost of services, like 50x.
Incoming new hire (Customer Engineer, Google Cloud Security) here. I used Levels.FYI and a few other sites (free versions) to get a baseline of the offers and what they generally consisted of.
I heard the same regarding base not really being negotiable but still requested the following after the initial offer:
- 32k base increase
- Total equity increase of 120k (and convert the cash bonus to equity instead)
Outcome: Received 8k bump in base and an extra 8k over what I asked for in equity.
*Caveat* I did have a pending promotion + deal compensation (yet to be paid) from my current company to help justify the asks. However, Google never asked to see it.
Great timing with google stock dip. Congrats!
