As an Asian American, not sure how I feel about this tbh

likesmartfunny

A5, there are multiple school systems that don’t have AA, and they’re all predominantly Asian.

Asian American here to say that this ruling is just another way for white people to divide POC and use the Asian American model minority myth as a cudgel against black and brown people.

Also, am i the only one wondering if elite schools (already moving away from testing as a metric) will do so even more under this ruling IMO, and the “soft” factors of EC, leadership, etc. are only going to be more important now? I think this will overall make things harder for Asian American kids to succeed at elite schools, not easier, because those schools for sure don’t want class populations that are 50%+ Asian American (as they would be if test scores and GPA were the sole factors).

Asian American here - horrible horrible decision. Feels awful to be used as a pawn for white supremacists

Someone give us some hope that there’s a workaround for this 🫣

A5 - true but a DeSantis Trump election might change that

Hi everyone. Is it typical for the attorney to take credit for the work a paralegal does? An example: I gave some ideas about deposition questions and some observations I made (I was asked about giving suggestions) regarding a witness and the attorney mentioned that he’s the one that had these great questions/observations. Zero credit or thank you for the work I did.

Anyone feel like your job sees you as "one of the good ones?" Basically I feel like a token, and I don't know how to shift that idea while staying professional.

Okay so I’m a newly licensed attorney in a very conservative part of TX. I just got my first job offer and I was worried at first thinking that I was in “Trump” territory, but I tested the waters in my interview and spoke about police injustices and how prosecutor’s job is not only to protect victims, but also defendants from police injustices. I have to let them know by tomorrow, but thoughts on if this is a good career move for someone who wants to work in transactional work-RE or Bankruptcy?
