Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

I once interviewed at Swift in Portland. The recruiter was the nicest person ever, but one person that I spoke to kept asking how did I manage conflicts. The answers I gave didn’t seem to satisfy them so they kept asking me the same thing.
I get that this important for leadership role, but I was interviewing for art direction. Ultimately I told them that advertising is not that important for me to personally dwell in conflict and if there are lingering problems on the workplace it should be the leadership role to help mediate those conflicts and create a better environment. They finally accepted the answer and clearly didn’t like it.
I ultimately read that as “how do you manage a toxic AF place?” And wasn’t the least surprised that a few months after that whole story happened with them.

There were a few more weird stories related here but it is hard to find. Searching only give me a lot of “Taylor Swift” comments.
Expected me to pay my way to fly across the country for an interview… for a junior media planning position

Recruiter who didn't know the role nor scope so we actually canvased the website together ... 🤨🙄🤯😆😂
Not in this industry but I was recruited by a start up that the recruiter said was going to revolutionize the pharma industry.
When I went to meet the finance team they were…let’s just say they weren’t impressive. And they talked about the founder in God like terms.
Suffice to say, my Spidey sense told me something wasn’t right & told the recruiter to tell them I wasn’t interested. The recruiter was shocked because of the $ they were offering.
Four months later they arrested the founder of the company…Martin Shkreli aka Pharma Bro
I thank God every day I went with my instincts.
And I’m about to watch the Hulu doc
They sent me the offer letter at 12 AM. I should’ve known to run then 💀

When I was a mid-level creative, a recruiter called me to say that she heard my agency was losing business. But not to worry, she could find me a new job and the best thing about her was she would not expect me take a pay cut. Even back then, I knew that sounded weird.
I once was talking to a recruiter that asked me to confirm/ promise if “everything went well and the offer was great” that I wouldn’t see any of my other interviews through at the other companies I was interviewing with. Also made me promise to accept an offer same day if one came through…I decided not to move forward after that, just gave me a bunch of red flags
Recruiter texted me if I hadn’t responded to her non urgent email from the night prior by 4pm. Like, I’m at work…..
I’m just impressed you’re all working with recruiters that work after hours. I was recently working with one in house and it seemed like they weren’t working at all. They took 3-4 days to return any emails or calls, despite having three open reqs for my department.
Yeh, like why are you working 😂 it’s a Sunday??!!
Recruiter contacting me nights and weekends do arrange two interviews. Has ghosted me for the past two weeks. Truly a sordid enterprise.
I was fresh out of college and applying to Assistant Media Planner jobs, HR at this agency said “I honestly don’t know what the media planning team does”. I should have known…but the big name of the agency and client won me over.
