I am a Sales Support Engineer (Applications Engineer) with 2 YOE. I am thinking about making a change because my job is no longer challenging, and there isn’t much growth opportunity in my company. I love my team, but I feel like I may need to move on. I am at 70k a year and have been told time and time again that I have learned faster than anyone they have seen and am a top performer. Teaching has taken over so much. I’m a wife and mother and still have a home life, but there is nothing outside of work and home. I have no friends, no other activities, no escape. Covid restrictions do not help. I know it’s not healthy to only focus on everyone else, but I’m not sure what to do about it. I'm reading this book on boundaries. In the work section it says I should tell my boss that I can't work after 5 PM. Knowing that advertising work commonly goes past 5 PM...would my job be in danger if I said that?

What is with potential employers asking if I have kids? This is the third time this year it’s happened. Doesn’t everyone know it’s illegal, discriminatory, and potentially EXTREMELY insensitive/offensive depending what my experiences may be, which they have no idea?
