Besides getting paid more, what else interests you about consulting?
Lol I think at least 1/2 to 2/3 of people in consulting are interested to get paid more
I started my career in middle office operations, at a corporate bank and made the move after several years similarly. I wouldn't go back if you gave me five times my salary. Happy to give you some advice if you send me a DM.
Absolutely! Happy to help
Be prepared to join at a lower level than you expect, but comp should be better. Hit me with a DM if i can help.
second A2, typically we use banking client VPs as consultants
What level are you trying to come in as
Could try internal consultant at a bank
Here’s some advice: DM me for a referral to PwC if you have a role you’re interested in 😎
I came from middle office ops with 5 YOE. Came in as SC
In a similar situation, curious to see what salary you'd be leaving and potential new salary. Also, what are the considerations for WLB?
Probably 20-30% at minimum more than my base of 150, but probably a fair amount less than my current WLB.
What is the compensation difference in your view?
I have seen reqs advertising probably 20-30% more than my TC for same YOE and folks from Big 4 + MBB especially seem to do very well for themselves on Fishbowl
You have it backwards…consulting, then the jump to banking. Less travel, better comp. I was 10 YOE so may be a different situation. Seen Accenture and PWC alum leave for banking, along w McK and Bain. Only gigs I’ve heard bankers leaving for from above is maaaaaybe EY and they got MD/D
Considering some banking strategy roles. What is your role?
Made similar move from banking (10 YOE) this year into Accenture and saw an increase from 115k to 170k. It’s a tough move, the world here is COMPLETELY different, but the money makes it worth a try imo.
