Anyone know the raise amounts for BCG yet?
Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

I was the senior-most creative for 3 years at a global brand. In my experience success depends on the degree of authority and autonomy your role has. The less you have of either, the less effective you’ll be. Optimal structure is reporting directly to CMO, not VP level or below. Brand side marketing teams work more collaboratively, so relationships matter. You’ll need support to accomplish larger goals and if you want acceptance for new processes and technologies you want to implement. The more strategically-grounded your reasoning for creative decisions, the more likely they are to be accepted. Results are paramount. So be ready to demonstrate how your work will achieve them. In many agencies, creative is the reason for being. Brand-side, creative is just one of many marketing tools at its disposal depending on the business you’re in, of course. You don’t have to compromise your creative convictions at all, but for sure do not assert any ego or your credibility will evaporate almost instantly. Good luck.
Thank you!
Coming from agencies that had few resources and tools - my company basically has none, and we rely on our agency partners to keep us up to date on things. Seek out events (ANA is a good one) and likeminded people because it’s difficult to continue growing if you don’t have that network.
This is very helpful thank you.
I plan on bringing many of the things I’ve learned working in ad land to my new employer (i.e. time tracking, asset management, briefings and creative reviews) and hope to build an in-house group with an agency feel as time goes on. That said, I would love to get any and all advice on the move in-house. Tips on how to implement the practices I’ve mentioned and other things to look out for. Also ways to stay creative while working solo and opportunities to enter work into award shows (i.e. How Magazine In-House Awards).
Thank you- that would be amazing. Right now I’m taking notes from my current PM and trying to figure out how to do that myself for the time being. Hoping to sell them on Basecamp or something similar.
Great. Hope theyre telling you the truth about all that happening, and that you’re not sick of the monotony in six months. Good luck.
Me too. In my last 2 jobs I wound up 100% allocated to 1 client, so monotony isn’t something that would scare me about an in-house job 😜
What agency are you leaving?

Update: I may have miscalculated on this. From personality clashes to tech issues this place is much different than it was sold to me. Still trying to make a go of it, but may be looking for a safe place to jump soon.
