Yep, there’s a push to go back into the office but people will probs leave if they tried to make it more than 3 days in the office. Big 4 employers really don’t have the leverage nowadays to make demands.
There are a lot of layoffs now in other industries so it will be more difficult for ppl to leave. I think a day or two in the office is reasonable and very much needed for more junior team members
I haven’t heard that PwC is doing away with remote. We have several people mapped to my office who live on the other side of the state.
Same here, I think it’s mostly team specific. Even the partners/leaders of my group have moved out of the city in which we are mapped work-wise
Short term, probably yes a bit to both. Medium/Long term, no (as long as they stay in line with general industry expectations).
Our office hired some people from other states to work on specific clients and they are not being asked to move. The people that were hired to work in our office but have been living with their parents outside of a commutable distance will likely need to move at some point or get approval to stay fully remote. Our firm does offer fully remote as an option but, while not explicitly stated, it will likely have an impact on career progression and ratings.
