Recruiter calls are easy. Just read the JD and be prepared to speak to your skillset, experience that supports that JD. They usually don’t ask any technical questions or in depth about any of your experiences , but if they do, follow STAR format. Throw in stats that will stick with them.
The more relaxed you are, the better you will perform. A recruiter only need figure out your communication skills , confidence, your qualifications in your words and your interest level for the job

Good luck. Just be yourself. They are calling you because they already think you have the experience
One more thing, read up on Amazon leadership principles. Don’t overdo it or be very obvious , but you should have some idea about what LPs your role would require. If you bake that in your conversation, you will make a very solid case.
They love their LPs
When I was laid off, the more desperate I was to land the role, the worse I did.
You sound desperate. You can’t afford to be. You have to approach interviews like they need you and not the other way around. Yes I know the reality but it’s all a game
Recruiter calls with Amazon are straightforward screeners. I had 2 calls (separate roles) and both were basically they asking you basic questions like "have you read the JD", "are you ok with the comp range", and overview of the entire interview process/what to expect at each round.
I don't know the level you're interviewing for but both of mine were for associate principal level.
I'd do some extensive prep for the technical and future rounds though.
Happy to answer questions. Feel free to DM.
Good luck!
Sounds like L5
Do yourself a favor and change the mindset of desperation, it will come across in your interview and will likely do more harm than help. I interviewed a few people like this recently, and unfortunately it was pretty clear regardless of how impressive their backgrounds were. Good luck!
Amazon leadership principles. Weave into your talk track.
Good luck! I’m dealing with a layoff too so know the stress and anxiety. You got this!
What's your skill set?
What position?
What role?
It’s okay to be desperate. This nonsensical advice to pretend to be anything other than what you’re not is mind boggling. The job market is in tatters and people have been unemployed for months with no source of income to pay their bills. It’s okay if they are desperate - it’s what any reasonable person will be in demanding situations.
Missing the entire point
Did you get it ?
